β β β β β I signed up a few sewing projects at MH, love it.
1) The PLACE is very comfortable, tidy and clean, there is a water dispenser for you have clean water to drink, a decent clean toilet to use.
2) The TEACHERS - Ching and Eileen are very helpful, cheerful and soft spoken even though they do expect you to remember and know what you should do if you've been learning for awhile. But if you're really confused like me, they are more than willing to explain again and again.
3) They sell some fabric and sewing accessories; and they have lots of cute projects to choose from.
4) Some kids were noisy at times, but the teachers will make sure they lower their voice and don't waste time chatting, or look at other people. As a mother, I love what i see because I know that I am not paying for my girl to be there and learn nothing.
I will definitely go again, this is a relaxing sewing place for adults and kids.

β β β β β A great place to send your kids for sewing classes. The teachers are patient and friendly and the kids really learn more than sewing, they pick up a sense of responsibility and attention to detail. You'll also be filled with cute little hand made items at home made by your own kids.

β β β β β A wonderful, cosy place to pick up a new skill. Ching and Eileen are great teachers - patient, encouraging and helpful. After a few beginner's classes with them, I have gone from knowing nothing about sewing to making my own custom projects from scratch! Strongly recommended :)

β β β β β I found Maker's Habitat by chance on goggle search in a day. I never regretted joining my first sewing class last Wednesday making a bag. Wow, what a great achievement for me. I'm proud of myself that I could sew a bag with the help of such sweet friendly ladies who taught me without fuss. Those who don't have any sewing experience or forgotten how to sew this is the place to go. All age groups are welcomed to try. You will not regret it. You will come back with your finished product joyfully like me. My hubby too was happy to see my work. Love this place cozy warm friendly n nice ambience. Jackie ???n

β β β β β Iβve always wanted to learn to sew, but thought it might not be possible (just due to clumsiness and never being able to find the time), but! Iβm so happy to have found Makerβs Habitat and their classes. Itβs been a few months, and Iβve learned to sew some simple garments and bags, and canβt wait to continue on this sewing journey. Itβs been a lovely hobby to pick up, especially with the madness of 2020.
Both Ching and Yusa have been really lovely, patient teachers and good company to boot. The classes in studio allow you to sew at your own pace, receive personalised attention, and see other studentsβ projects come along. The studio is neatly laid out, and classes conducted there during the RMCO had careful SOPs and lots of room between students. Since the CMCO kicked in, 1-on-1 classes were offered, and theyβve also been great experiences. Very detailed, encouraging, and you get immediate solutions if you encounter problems. Couldnβt recommend them more highly! β€οΈβ€οΈ

β β β β β If you're looking for a place to learn how to sew a dress, bag, shirt and more. Maker's Habitat is the place to go!! Always look forward to classes. From the relaxed environment with the music :) down to the dedication of the teachers. As a beginner, I didn't know anything about sewing nor did I know how to operate a sewing machine. The teachers are amazing at what they do and explains to you in detail so that you would be confident to sew on your own. Really Learnt alot and especially had fun.. Now I'm all addicted to sewing! It's never too late to pick up a new skill. So..look them up and enquire! glad I did :)

β β β β β The sewing machine is an intimidating piece of equipment, but once I was introduced to it, I cannot stop thinking about it! They are just plain beautiful beasts sitting quietly at Maker's Habitat, waiting for imagination and creativity to collide. Believing I can sew using a sewing machine for the first time is an amazing experience, combined with pleasant and friendly atmosphere makes learning just that much more fun at Maker's Habitat! We wear, feel and touch upon countless objects that are the product of good workmanship and techniques, often without realising the wonderful process on how these things are made. Thanks to my teacher Ching at Maker's Habitat, I might have embarked on an unstoppable journey of exploration and adventure, meeting new challenges and experiencing the joy of completing something by your own hand as simple as a card holder! Thanks again Ching, and a small step to bigger dreams!

I have been taking classes in Makerβs Habitat for some time now and have made totes, tops, dresses, bucket bags, pants and so many other wonderful things.
Ching is very encouraging and teaches really well the concepts and techniques of dressmaking and bag making. The sewing machine is no longer a scary monster to me. Highly enjoyable and once youβve achieved to complete a project the joy you get out of it is out of this world! Thank you Makerβs Habitat!
