★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A favourite night stop for Bah Kut Teh along Jalan Dato Keramat opposite the Penang prison, where COVID-19 is ravaging around you as you sip your hot tea and pork bone broth, wondering who actually are prisoners of our imagination. One of the last few places able to offer fresh kidneys on the rocks cooked to perfection. The soup seems light but gets heavier as the night wears on and so does the MSG thirst. A weak soy may quench your palate.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A favourite spot for poached kidney with Bak Kut Teh. Soup quality has been maintained but sadly not the yam rice. Come late for the fuller soup aroma. Tried and tested again with free flowing soup refills. A good cuppa of kopi O is made. Dinner for 3 under RM50.
