The engines and transmissions are largely carried forward, so the characteristics are very familiar. Ever so eager to change direction, the new CX-5 now has another trick up its sleeves - the new SkyActiv G-Vectoring (GVC) fitted. Another ground breaking technology from Mazda, GVC was the culmination of a division within Mazda called 'Jinba Ittai' - no joke, the marketing term for the MX-5 is now a division by itself.
