β β β β β Born and bred in Penang. In my 60 plus years living in Penang, I have never tried this stall even though at one time I lived less that 1/2 mile from CRC. And I didn't miss much.
I ordered a plate of mee goreng and it was so salty I had to send it back. The owner, or his son, was sulky when I told him . He did replace a fresh plate and it was the worst mee goreng I ever had. Bland to the point of tasteless.
I should have known better. Upon entering the premise, I could not smell any aroma of a noodle dish frying in a very hot wok. That should have tipped me right off but I was hungry so I took a chance. Bad decision.
The noodles were dry, no hint of a good sauce other than a combination of low quality soy sauce and dark soy sauce. Taste was of overwhelmingly salty, and the dish was like being tossed on medium or low heat instead of being really fried. If you don't see a smoky wok , forget it.
Being in business for over 60 years really doesn't mean anything.
