For those who are coming to Terengganu for the first time, make sure you are not confused with the names "Merang" and "Marang". Merang is a place in the Setiu District, while Marang is a district in the State of Terengganu.
Near this area a breakwater was also built to set the depth of the river estuary, for which this construction has resulted in a man -made lagoon. This makes this area suitable as a camping site. On Merang Beach there is also a beautiful Public Park and just a few minutes from Merang Jetty
