★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The well is located on a hill. Where did the so called water in the well came from? The water table is many meters below but the well is shallow. If the water had to be poured and carried from the river, that involved buckets of water involving lots of man power to bring the water up from the river to pour into the well before the water seeps into the ground.
