After circling around a rather quiet Tropicana Gardens Mall, my other half and I ended up at Ramen Bankara. Other restaurants were quieter, and didn't exuberate any lively spirit. Although we were stuffed into an alcove, we didn't quite mind because it felt a little more private. However, the alcove was quite warm, and the establishment's standalone fan didn't help much. ? Had the Bankara Ramen and Tonkatsu Ramen with everything on. The Bankara Ramen has Tokyo-style Ramen in a more savoury, sweet, brown, oily, fatty Shoyu-based pork bone broth, whilst the Tonkatsu Ramen sees the more familiar QQ Hakata-style Ramen swimming in a well-balanced milky pork bone broth. Although the Bankara Ramen was nice, it was a rhapsody of Umami-overload with the Shoyu drowning everything out. We preferred the Tonkatsu Ramen. We were greedy and ordered the Japanese Curry Rice. Chunks of deep-fried breadcrumbed chicken pieces, potatoes and carrots in a rather bland mild curry sauce with way too much diced onions, and way too little sauce. Sadly, easily forgettable... ? The Gyozas were remiscent of the CP-brand ones from the supermarket. Potato croquettes were crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Nice. Spinach was fresh and green, nutty with sprinkles of toasted sesame seeds, and a hint of Umami crunch-sweetness. Overall, a good experience. If we crave for Ramen again, we will definitely hit a Bunkara Ramen joint. ?

Definitely worth a try! Their soup base is a bit on the lighter side. Don’t get me wrong - it’s still tasty and delicious but compared to a lot of other places, the ramen here is less heavy on the flavour, which is a good change as you get to enjoy the entire bowl without feeling extremely thirsty/ overpowered with flavour after. On another note I personally didn’t quite enjoy the pork belly so I think ordering the normal cha su bowl is good enough.

Tried the Tonkotsu and Bankara ramen. The broth and ingredients are really good, though my friends and I think the tonkotsu broth taste better, as it's thicker and richer. Bankara is more of a soy sauce flavor broth. The amount is enough that your can finish it without feeling too full in the end.

Ramen is actually not bad. As a ramen fan, my choice is their Ramen Bankara which is a mix of shoyu and tonkotsu if mot mistaken. Their Tonkotsu here is just so so. If you like Tonkotsu base, try Bari Uma or Ramen Bar. What could severely improve is the service and staff. I always had a 50:50 experience here depending being served by who. I do agree with some of the reviews here that they need to either hire better people or give better training. This is such a let down if your "product" is good but service sucks! So perhaps time to back up Mgmt Team. If even from the reviews pointing this issue out and you're doing anything, you're digging your own grave. Cheers and hope u guys improve.

Regardless some negative comments that I saw in some of the previous review, our experience were quite pleasurable. Service still ok, only attentiveness could be better and room for improvement. Food wise, the broth and ingredients that we both ordered, everything were just nice. My wife had tried out the Sankoichi, while i'm had the Kakuni Bankara, both were nice and tasty. We will be sure revisit again to try out other choices in their menu.

The noddles is delicious. Suitable for those ramen lover to have a try. However, the services are not so welcoming, maybe due to insufficient stuffs. The price rage is around RM25-RM40 per person.

Food quality is definitely matching its price tag but worth the try. Love the interior decor. Read some reviews and can empathize why service standards are being commented upon. Although the servers are responsive , somehow the atmosphere is a little tense… and the a no-nonsense manager (I presumed) is doing the job well, not everyone / customer sees that as customer centric behavior but only because he may be more of a task focused type of character then people oriented. All is good. Be sure to go early as the queue can get pretty long!
