★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nestled along taman maju, in quite an active part of jb, lies restaurant Soon Ching, selling Bak Kut Teh, or pork bone soup. The restaurant is easy to find, with a prominent sign along the road. Parking can be crowded, but there are lots along the whole stretch of road. Would recommend to go on off peak. We went at 8.30 am on a Saturday and the restaurant was empty. Service, unsurprisingly, was extremely prompt. Price for a bowl ranges from 10-14 RM.
Pros:
Food is not half bad. The signature pork bone soup is tasty, and goes well with rice. The restaurant also sells home made barley, which washes the soup down well.
Cons:
The soup comes in bowls that are small, and we were limited to only 1 extra refill per bowl of soup ordered. It is a shame, as the soup is the main selling point. We were left with a lot of rice and not enough soup.
Summary:
Tasty food, but a bit expensive and limited. Would recommend for a taste test, but probably not as a weekly staple.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Authentic teochew styled BKT. Been around for more than 20years. Servings r simple in traditional ceramic bowl. Spare ribs, pork bones, belly, sweet intestine, pork knuckle, Taupo & preserve vege. The stew pork Knuckles is superb. If u r in the mood, try their sweet intestine.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Taste a bit too normal, the soup is in dark color normally jb bkt in bowl the color won’t be so dark. The pig stomach soup taste better than the bkt.. taufu a bit disappointment.. overall not too bad for older people

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Definitely on the pricey side. Pig trotter's was the best dish out of the many items we tried. BKT was average. The price for tea is just ridiculous, they charged 3RM per pax for one pot.

Family has been coming here for about 3 generations, I have tried other places, but this place still takes the undisputed top when it comes to fulfilling all your Bak Kut Teh needs. May be pricey to some, but every bit you spend is like a step deeper into paradise!
