โ โ โ โ โ Arguably the best chicken rice restaurant in town and it has been around for a long, long time. A normal sight of customers crowding here during lunch time. The poached chicken is simply smooth, tender and juicy. The free soup of salty vegetables is unique and appetising. The other tasty side dishes make your gourmet visit a memorable one. Management of seating arrangement, order of food right down to settlement of bills is neat and systematic.
Little wonder the much advertised Michelin Star related restaurant of Liao Fan Hawker Chan (ไบๅกๆฒน้้ฃฏ) situated just opposite had thought it wise to shift to Coliseum Square, Jalan Gopeng.

Their sour vege taste good, a little bit on the sweet side.
Limited seat they have, probably only 10 tables. Was here during Chinese New year and had to queue for 45 minutes. Lady boss was handling the crowd well.

โ โ โ โ โ Ordered 1 plate of roasted chicken rice RM6 with acar RM1 and beansprouts RM1. Total RM8.
Steam chicken only for 1 pax RM8.50. Chrysanthemum drink RM1.80.
Overall taste is good. Beansprouts (taugeh) is a must to eat in Ipoh.
Came here on a Monday at 12:40pm for lunch.
The coffee shop was crowded. Managed to get a table within 5 mins. Service was quick and efficient.

โ โ โ โ โ Nice dishes and the lady boss is friendly and politely. This shop always crowded during lunch time, therefore need to prepare some waiting time, some people were really inconsiderate other people queuing outside, even they finish dishes keep sitting there talking.
Their chickens and side dishes are so good and nice. Should visit when you are in Ipoh. Price are reasonable.

โ โ โ โ โ Poached chicken is good. Roasted chicken and char siu (BBQ pork) are alright. Do give the sambal stink beans and hot & for green mustard stew a try. They're delicious.

โ โ โ โ โ One of the less busy chicken rice joints within the city. Friendly staff. Parking a pain as expected. Prices are a bit touristy. Not too big. Service is organised but a bit slow.
We shared a combination (steam & roast) chicken for 4 pax, 1 pax portion of char siew & siew yoke plus single portions of tauge & acar. It was pretty good. Rice is flavorful. Chicken was tender & juicy. The sauce was addictive. Pork items average at best. Acar was okay & added an interesting dimension. The soup was amazing. One of the best I've tasted.
Overall we enjoyed our meal. Will recommend for those in the area. Much better than Lou Wong for sure.

โ โ โ โ โ Small store with a capacity of about 24 pax(?) at any time. Waited for about 20mins but the crowd was well managed by the lady boss.
Food was good, but comparable to KL prices - RM 7 for chicken rice. Would come back though, very fragrant rice & chicken was silky ?
