I’ve been a long time customer of the Shangri-la and always look forward to dining at Shang Palace but since the re-opening of the restaurant after the last MCO, it feels like something is lacking in the service. Service is slow and the staff seem very stand-offish when you’re asking them questions about the menu. For a 5 star hotel, service is what distinguishes them from other good Chinese restaurants and it would be good if this can be improved. Also one of the waiters should be told not to just take a customers credit card to wave payment without first asking if he may do so. He was very rude in that respect.

Came here to celebrate a birthday. Staff were very professional and accommodating. Got us a private room. Food was served efficiently and was delicious (although not as good as the dim sum you'd get from the Oriental group restaurants IMHO). Ambience is nice but looking very dated these days, as the hotel itself is pretty old. Price is a little bit on the expensive side.

We had a great lunch here during our visit at the Shangri-La KL. The food was tasty & fresh especially the stir-fried scallop with XO sauce & broccoli οΌˆζžε“ι…±εΈ¦εη‚’θ₯Ώε…°θŠ±οΌ‰, the portions of fried rice roll with dried scallop, minced chicken & bean sprout in satay sauce οΌˆη‘ΆζŸ±ιΈ‘θŒΈζ²™θŒΆι…±η‚’θ‚ η²‰οΌ‰ was big, mildly spicy, you can smell the aromatic comes with the fragrant smell of spices and dry roasted peanuts, double-boiled chicken soup with abalone ginseng and herbs οΌˆι²ι±ΌδΊΊε‚ηŽ‰η«ΉιΈ‘ζ±€οΌ‰was mild, just nice & not over power the taste. Appreciate for the staff & manager who recommended the above dishes for us. My friend was very happy with their attentive service during lunch.

Made reservation in advance for dinner here, maybe they just reopening after months of lockdown and we found very less people coming here. Great staffs, good foods, well served and taste genuinely Chinese made foods, a bit pricy because its under ShangriLa Hotel for sure ❀️

Piping hot dimsum and wide variety to choose from. The quality is excellent and consistent. The ambience is warm and inviting. We will be back.

I’m giving 2 stars just because their saving grace is their Peking duck which was delicious. There was a one server (Monica) who was also quite nice- one of the stars is for her. Unfortunately she was not out in the restaurant area- she only came out when serving some dishes. I’m just a bit shocked at the level of service - for the amount we are paying, you would expect a certain level of attentiveness and service, especially when the restaurant had only 5 occupied tables (with us included). Our little one had a mishap (spilled a glass of water)- not a single server came to our aid. We constantly had to get napkins ourselves, poured our own tea, basically serving ourselves. Which is fine if we were at a regular restaurant charging average prices. At most good Chinese restaurants, they would change your plate, appear magically at your table attending to your needs without even having to ask for them. Even getting the bill to us was a tiresome wait. Again, if the restaurant is fully occupied, this would be understandable. The staff seem to be disorganized and not well trained. This was actually a special occasion for us and they ended up spoiling our experience- severely terribly disappointed. If you want to charge premium prices, please offer services that match the price.

Food is lower expectations with the price paid. Have the dinner set with Peking Duck and the duck meat used to fried "Stewed Hong Kong 'Ee fu' noodles with shredded duck meat and mushrooms"... The Traditional Peking Duck is pretty good and delicious.. But when it comes to thr noodle, the first impression made my appetite gone. The noodles is overcooked and salty but tasteless.. Service by the crew is also under standard. Most part-timer aren't well trained, they serve the soup onto your plate, which a rude manners in Chinese culture. In sum, not recommended to waste ur money in this restaurant. There are more quality restaurants outside there.

Pricey dim sum but some dishes were really nice. Environment and service were great! Too bad their pecking duck sold out during my visit, better reserve one next time!
