★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Found a really cool place on the rooftop off REX KL with live DJ.
First impression was great. They have nice rustic set up and outdoor sort of bar area with red stools.
So we thought it would be nice to grab a drink and go home.
Pros
- Ambience is nice. Breezy and very chill
- food is actually nice but the portion is tiny tiny tiny
- We have tried Food tartare and octopus and they are both yummy
Cons
- Service is HORRIBLE!!
- The fat host was being very condescending. We were asking if they have red wine (cause Puro downstairs were out) and he was like “of course we have” in a not funny way. Red flag 1.
- ok nevermind. We went in. We were already seated at the outdoor bar area and a lady with yellowish hair came to ask us to move because they expected more customers. So we’re happy to move not an issue. 30 mins in those seats we were moved from still empty…. Why girl why?
- then we’re trying to order something, my boyfriend was hungry and I only wanted drinks . So he ordered fish tartare and I ordered sake. The same nice lady told us cannot. In order to sit on their red stool u gotta order 2 drinks if there are 2 ppl
- look at the rm 30 something food portion Lolol it’s tinyyyyyyyyyyyyy. ??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I came here after visiting Book Excess. Its located at 3rd floor, next to Book Excess. You can enjoy the KL view. I tried Suntory Highball - mixture of gin tonic and soda and Gweilo Session IPA. The drinks are yummy. Would love to try their food in future.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quaint little restobar hidden upstairs RexKL, it’s a cool place for East Asian tapas-style bites to go with saké, shochu, and organic wine. Chef Mui reels you in with show-stopping eats: drunken cockles with taucu and rice wine, tofu with soy-cured yolk and herbs, red glutinous rice with sakura shrimps and salt-cured fish roe, and grilled locally grown banana peppers with sesame peanut butter.
The repurposed cinema building itself is a theatrical hub of food&beverage enterprises, cultural activities, a bookstore, and community centric happenings in KL’s Chinatown. At sundown, there’s a lively music scene for the young crowd.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Loved the open outdoor area, view is great although it can get hot at times. Interesting drinks, great to try & not too boozy. RM50 for a cocktail, standard for a bar in KL.
However, the waiter was a bit too friendly (borderline harassing even), we asked for recommendations, it escalated to him asking my friend and I for our numbers which we declined. Guess he felt it was appropriate to ask two more times, even following us down the stairs after we’ve left to ask again.
Would really like to visit again and hope this behaviour isn’t a norm here.

Amazing and unique tapas to go with a good selection of wine.
Loving the chill, cozy, underground and exclusive vibe of this hidden gem.
Could be humid depending on the weather since it's on a rooftop.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The atmosphere is good and the setting is quite unique with a small open air space which allows you to see KL city view. However, i personally think that the liquor and some of the drinks are overpriced. No comment about the food since we never order any. The manager tho is willing to reach out to us for feedback and promise to revise the price after getting our comments.
