★ ★ ★ ★ ★ While we queue outside for 1 hr, the manager inform us that we have to wait for another 45 mins for the food to be prepared. After we sat down on our table. I asked the manager can we order the drinks first and get it served while waiting for the food . She says not able to.They serve all in a single order due to lack of staffs.
We raise our hand to the manager to take our order, she gave us a hold on sign. She ask the waitress to take order from another table and another to another…. The waiteress did not take our order first even though we were the first few to enter . The waiteress instead serve the other customers that came later than us. We keep raising our hands to capture the attention of the waiteress. But they ignore us. Eventually other tables are served except ours.
I guess that they have overheard our comments on their management system that they deliberately ignore us. So we calmly walk out of the restaurant with extreme disappointment. The manager did not even stop us and offer to take our order when we intend to leave.
If what we had commented had anger them for such a behaviour , I can say they won’t be improving to manage any situation any better. We can leave with an empty stomach but what they lose is the respect from the customers.
Souper Tang stated that “they are part of the health movement and dedicated to developing your healthy lifestyle. With our new revamped outlets, you can enjoy your crafted soups in a calm and relaxing environment. Welcome to celebrate with us and bring the vitality in your bowl”
What they have stated in their website does not tally with the service provided. This is the bad experiences that we had at the outlet at JB Citysquare Mall. Hope other outlets don’t have such issue.

Slow service and it’s written all over the staff members’ faces they’d rather be ANYWHERE but here.
Baby abalone rice is very good, though.

The staffs were really slow and foods took a long time to come out.

Sesame Oil Ginger Wine & Herbs Chicken Mee Suah (RM23.08)
? The chicken so cold I hesitated over whether I should offer my jacket to the chicken. Lame jokes aside, the chicken wasn't good, will not order again. The soup of the sesame oil ginger wine & herbs Mee Suah was good though. Loved the soup.
? Waiting time while queuing is probably between 30mins to an hour. Waiting time for food after placing order was probably around an hour later. They did mention that if you want to be seated to note that waiting time for food was around an hour. But it was pretty much the same across many stores in City Square because it was holidays and many Singaporeans entered. Adding the fact that there wasn't much dining option left... Our lunch ended up to be early dinner instead as we only got the food after 2pm.
? Affordable. Whether if its value for money depends on the item you order I guess.
? May or may not patronise again. But will not if there's long waiting time.

To be honest the food execution of Souper Tang is frankly not bad.This time rd The fried garlic w ginger fish slices, claypot saucy pork slice w omelette and the silky beancurd ordered all tasted gd! It should been 4 stars but minus 1 star due to extreme poor service experienced.
Like many other reviews mentioned , the service at this outlet leaves really little to desire. Before entering staff will rather unkindly highlight that at least a 30min wait if enter and order their food to eat. If we are OK then allowed to step in. We noted as we got seated that tables are not even fully occupied. And Within 10minutes food are served already, so did a few tables that came after us so it really seemed staff just did not want people to patronise?Throughout the meal whenever we needed like utensils etc it was hard to catch their attention and the few staff were simply idling not busy. We had been to the Paradigm mall jb outlet just few days ago and service was extremely friendly and prompt with comparison to the City square outlet. If this had been our 1st visit we would most likely not come again due to the poor service but the foodfare was the saviour. We will likely eat at Souper Tang again but not this outlet with poor service attitude. Hope the management can improve this outlet staff service.
