โ โ โ โ โ I was invited to this cafe for a reunion dinner among our family friends.The dishes were deliciously good and most of use have more than one helping.The services provided like you are in a Michelin class super dining restaurant but remember, we only come over to have a buffet dinner!

โ โ โ โ โ Nice Cafe inside the hoterl of Royale Chulan Penang. Good friendly of staff. Yummy food and big portion for ala carte dish. Need the improved.. Have small paper on floors. Need Wape the surface of table and furniture to be more shining, brightly and shine (need more positive aura). Overall, still OK and will be back here.

โ โ โ โ โ The hotel atmosphere is great, went there for the buffet dinner with promo price RM108 for 2 pax. The service is good, they prepared disposable gloves for everyone during the RMCO period. The food is fair, all the chefs are serving the food fast. The only downside is they donโt have car park available for those diners, all was reserved for hotel guests and we have to park at somewhere else and walk to the hotel during the raining.

Only set breakfast during weekdays. Not great either.
Taste wise, much to be improved. Yet to find one that satisfy me.
Being a colonial era building i like their high ceiling, the age old design, slow swirling ceiling fans.

โ โ โ โ โ It was Buka Puasa Buffet dinner. Many different dishes and lots of varieties. Taste wise, pretty disappointing. Food is not respected and handled with love!!!Hotel fare used to be great ,just a waste of our money!

โ โ โ โ โ Sri Tanjung Cafe at the Royale Chulan Hotel in Penang dished out their Christmas Eve Buffet Dinner tasting session this evening and I was lucky to be invited over to try it and share my experience.
Firstly I would say the choices of menu is great and I find its not the usual items that you find on a hotel buffet menu.
For a starter you will find items like fresh Seafood on Ice ~ shrimp, oysters, flower crabs, and mussels, Salmon Gravlax with Avocado and Salsa Verde, Fresh Squid Salad with Lime Dressing, Octopus Salad with Mango Chutney, Sashimi Vol Au Vent and many more.
On the main, you find items not often found on usual buffet menu like Seafood Jambalaya, Stuffed Squid with Raisins and Cous Cous, Grilled Salmon Fillet with Dill Sabayon, Beef Stroganoff, Grilled Lamb Cutlets with Rosemary Olive Sauce and many more.
The highlight of their menu for me is definitely on the Carving Station where you will find the must have of the Traditional Roast Turkey with Mirepoix Sausage and Apricot Stuffing, Roast Beef Wellington with Yorkshire Pudding and Tandoori Marinated Roast Lamb.
A Christmas meal will never be complete without its host of traditional desserts like the Yule Log, Christmas Pudding and Cookies, Ginger Bread, Chocolate Mousse, Cranberry Bread with Vanilla Sauce, Apple Struddles, and Black Forest Cakes. There is also the ice kacang station for those who wanna keep their dessert closer to home.
Decked in Christmas regalia with Gingerbread Houses and Christmas Candies, Santa and the Christmas Carollers will also be around at the Sri Tanjung Cafe on Christmas Eve to raise up the Christmas mood.
The Christmas Eve Buffet is priced at only RM120 nett per person (or RM80 for Senior Citizen and RM60 for Children) and it comes with a party pack and a glass of house wine. Make reservations before December 15 and you get a 10% off the price.
