Been around for a long time, and at least since the early 90's. Its probably one of the last of its kind - its a street that cars use by day, and the hawkers occupy it at night and block the whole road in the middle. Only about 4 stalls are left here now and the crowd has died down a lot now, except for the last stall selling the Assam Laksa and Mee Jawa (plus various kuehs and bean porridge), but you mainly see a crowd there because you have to line up to order and pick up your own food, and the service is slow. If you ask me, its high time that particular stall close down here and move into a restaurant, as its not suited to the table service concept that should be, for this kind of street food places. Kenny's porridge stall has also closed down here and moved into a shop in Aman Suria, and this Laksa stall should do the same. Give the space up to another stall to open. I hope the government preserves this place and perhaps even help to clean it up and modernise it a bit. A must visit if you are into street food dining, though none of the stalls here serve very good food. I'll edit and expand on this review in time.

Found this only a few days ago, and as a fan of street food hawker stalls, Lovely quiet Lane of 4 food stalls which cleanliness is as good as it gets (they have clean water from taps) 1 drinks stall which serves juices as good as Boost (uses the same machine) at half the price. 1 kedah Asam laksa stall which is the best I’ve had in PJ so far. Their teochew chai kueh is superb - the skin is so fresh & soft, with the fillings cooked perfectly. They also have Ban Chang Kueh which was so well blended, it’s so difficult to find them anywhere nowadays! Given how good the food is, please be patient as naturally you may have to queue (we went at 1030pm and it was clear!) but it is worth it. The mother & son are also very friendly and clearly passionate with their cooking. 1 porridge & stir fry auntie. Tried her pork porridge and it was full of flavour. Her nuts were also roasted, which shows the effort into making sure it was perfect. 1 mamak stall, haven’t tried it yet but I see lots of people ordering their maggi goreng!
