Went for the "famous" sang har meen. Cost me 96 ringgit for 1 large prawn with noodles, enough for 2 small eaters. It was delicious! They also do other styles of noodles plus vege and pork ribs. Due to the presence of the other "famous" Hokkien Mee stall in this kopitiam, what the SHM stall offers changes from full range between 12noon and 4pm, and, after that, no noodles that the "senior" Hokkien Mee stall also sells when they open for business at 4pm. Worth a try...

Food and drinks are below average. Limited space to dine. Nothing special. Parking very limited and municipal officers always around to fine cars parked along road.

Circling the completed Seventeen Mall were rows of old shophouses occupied by many old (and new businesses). If you know how to find good food, there are plenty of options in this older part of PJ. For me, I rely on the recommendation from my friends some time. So a dear friend told me about one of his favourite place for a good bowl of curry mee. I took notice, wrote in my list and went to eat when I had the chance. Suffice to say, I had a good breakfast that morning and since then, I looked for opportunity to taste the curry mee again. My prayer was answered when a close car kaki of mine suggested breakfast drive and I suggested this place. One of the few kopitiam that serves hawker style food, we sat down and enjoyed our meal for a good one hour ++. β—ΎCurry mee - ordered one completed with all the bells & whistles... Chicken leg, cockles, pork skin, taufu pok, beancurd skin, bean sprout, long bean, etc... All doused with slightly thin but aromatic curry broth. Not a single drop of soup was left in the end. Maybe I was just hungry. β—ΎKampung Chicken Wantan stall - poached kampung chicken with thick vermicelli (big mihun).. the sight of poached chicken and the glistening skin prompted me to order to eat and try. If I may say, it was good... I remember there is a stall selling glutinous rice which was quite good as well.

Freshest prawn with crunchy Yee Mee. Perfect combo if you crave Sang Har Mee. Order Hokkien Mee/dai chow next door for extra bonus.

This kopitiam is good. Space is spacious and not as hot as other kopitiam around that area. Most of the food here are not bad especially the char kuey taow noodle which I find it nicer than Robert's one. The prawn is devein and reasonable amount of cockles. The Fatt Kee soy sauce chicken rice is also very good, chicken are moist, juicy and tender. Update: my favorite uncle char kuey taow no longer frying due to his bike accident. But he still sells his yam cake and now a new dish, yellow gultinous rice with curry chicken.

Last surviving chef of the three apprentices of KL's legendary Hokkien Mee SiFu master. The other student Ah Wah of Paramount fame passed away a few years back. The uncle here has served customers for over four decades with the original dark caramelised soysauce once brewed in Balakong. Post pandemic he is back cooking except on Mondays, usually from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm. His style is characteristicly al-dente with the tai lok mee which requires a good overnite soaking in its juices to reach its peak at breakfast. For Hokkien bee hoon and Cantonese fried noodles (Wahtan yinyong), they taste just right when freshly fried in their starchy gravy. Portion for two still at RM17.00.
