Stay Space

Stayspace has decent design and will promise you end-to-end service at the beginning. Once contract is signed, the person who claimed to be an experienced project manager and promised to project manage is not involved and delegated to the designer who is ill-equipped to carry out the work and project manage. Stayspace’s work quality is appalling and caused constant need for rectifications, which costed us more time and money to rectify their mistakes and re-arrange work schedule for 3rd party vendors. These are just some of the issues and defects that we have had to deal with from the beginning till now. After months of highlighting these and reminders, a good portion of the issues/defects are still not rectified, and no solutions and follow-ups to date. Learned from our experience and choose your designers and contractors wisely. -Getting wet work workers to do plumbing work, no individual water shut-off valve, a leak at your basin and will have to shut-off water supply to the entire floor. Perhaps common sense goes a long way here. -Kitchen was flooded as the workers didn’t clear the debris in drains, had to re-do our kitchen cabinets. -No reinforcements in gate pillars causing autogate to not be able to fix onto the pillars strongly, pillars started to crack. Costed us extraneous cost to rearrange autogate installations (multiple trips to remove and reinstall). Reinforcements cost of pillars was charged back to owner when fault was on Stayspace as autogate material was informed way ahead of time and was told it will not be an issue. -Misaligned stairs, lost time to dismantle and rebuilt stair. Even with rebuilt, steps are still misaligned between each step. Perhaps common sense goes a long way here as well. -No waterproofing on porch cement resulted in fungal growth, rectified only after complain made. -Multiple electrical points not functioning/wrongly positioned but were informed there were done. Resulted in extraneous cost for owner as installers had to make multiple trips. -Wrongly installed TNB meter board three times, despite specific specs and side by side pictures provided. Caused delay in applications with TNB. -Uneven flooring, walls and tiles in bathrooms and had to fix multiple times, costed extraneous cost and lost time for owner as shower screen installers had to make multiple visits with failed attempts to install. -Mistakes in measurement and levelling, causing uneven floors, gaps in between custom-built cabinets/fittings/shower screens, costed us to re-do and re-arrange with various installers. -Used plaster ceiling material to build a ground to ceiling boxed-up area for shelves. Resulted in numerous rectifications works as the material was unable to hold the weight of wooden planks and caused cracks and safety concern. Despite numerous rectifications, Stayspace failed to solve the issue. At the end Stayspace’s vendor admitted it’s the wrong material and will remove at no cost. Stayspace never bothered to apologise and admitted that they had ill-advised us. We had to find new vendor to re-do, resulting in extra cost, time and trouble to owner. -Crooked window frames, rubber around the frame keeps getting loose and falls out. Peeling laminated floors. Although we haven't even moved-in. -Don’t expect Stayspace to supervise and notice mistakes by workers. Owners must constantly go onsite to check on progress and identify mistakes and inform the designer, hence causing constant delays for rectification work. -House was broken-in three times as the workers didn’t block/close the entrance. -Allowed stranger to tour our house without our consent. -Staff shortage is a constant recurrence causing constant delay.

Would definitely recommend Stay Space to anyone. They are professional yet equally personable. The team's attention to detail is phenomenal. Satisfied with their excellent after sales service and they're making the entire renovation an amazing experience.

Had a great experience designing my new house with Stay Space! The team is very professional in engaging and following up with the project. Love the aesthetic yet practical design suggestion by them. There were a few issues happened during the renovation, however the team was very helpful and prompt in resolving the issues. Really appreciate them for being so accommodative, I really enjoyed their service!
