S	Simon SS Lau on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sat 30 Apri 2022. Our niece from Pretam Jaya, Melaka invited and fetched us for a dinner at this exclusive, off the beaten path seaside seafood restaurant. We have to pass through a private mansion to reach the place at the back of the Mansion. The place has a relaxing vibe. A lively background music was playing. Our table was set less than 5 meters from the beach with the tide and tiny waves rolling in. We order our own choices of drinks and some personal dishes and other side sides for sharing: mushroom soup bruschetta, seafood spaghetti, spicy commando potatoes chips etc. Service was attentive and courteous. Prices are reasonable. Parkings are adequate.
R	Rabbits on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First of all, the view of the beach and the puppy is nice. But the owner was having bad attitude among the customer and even shouting on the customer. They go back on their own word after they tell us that we are able to bring outside food. To be honest, I was really shocked that the worker tell us that we can bring outside food. Most important, we have get the permission to bring outside food, if you can't accept this, then you should tell us no when we ask for the permission.

My company was looking for a place to bring our top management for dinner. After a few recommendations here and there, we found Straits Mansion on Google. We took note that reservations are required for dine in as well like other popular dine-in places in Melaka. My (unfortunately) only photograph does not do justice, but you may take my word for it when I say the view is great. There is some waiting time before the food arrives but it is not too bad when you are mingling around with some drinks in hand, while taking a short stroll on its attached beach. The food quality itself is as expected for the price though its consistency could be further improved on, as part of my steak was a tender medium rare while other parts (especially) the surface texture was quite tough. I noticed there is only one main chef and possible 2 sous chef cooking the whole evening which may have some impact though I may be horribly wrong on this observation. Overall, the outdoor kitchen and al fresco dining alongside the scenic view makes this place a great spot for anniversary dinners, engagement parties and of course, the good ol' company dinner. S	SK Theng on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the second time I frequent to SM but the experiences were let a let down though it's just about 4 months apart. Price increased is understandable due to cost and everything are increasing but the services and foods are not on par. Ordered grilled slipper lobster in one day (as required now due to short of staffs) but on the same day after waited for about 30 mins been told the lobster isn't fresh so we agree to change to Seafood platter. The seafood were overcooked where the squids are hard and over chewy, the tiger prawns dry and hard (inseparable from shell). The lamb shank is still good, but not evenly cooked though. The utensils have to request for 2nd time to get a complete clean set where the first 2 sets are as good as just rinsed with water and still with the foods stains. The setting is great, but try don't spoil it with the lower quality services and foods.

Organized a couple of department gatherings with food and drinks here. We had a great time! Highly encouraged to call to make your reservations before making your way there to not be disappointed.
