The waiting time is not so bad as it was not crowded when we arrive... the service is sooooooo slow & after raising my hand up 3 times for assistance, the staff don't even bother... Not recommended...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food was average, decent enough for me to come back again. Was there for a very late lunch at 3pm, and it was almost half occupied. There was only one staff who is the manager doing all the running; clearing tables, dishing, cashiering, taking orders. Despite being a one-man show, Yuan displayed great professionalism, his mannerism awes me. While commending him, I got to know it’s his first day in JB as he was transferred here from KL for training. He deserved a pay raise!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food is just average, come here quite frequently just because it's okay sushi at midvalley Southkey mall and we love hanging out here after work. Services and the attitude of the staff here are just bizzares. It's almost as if they don't want customers in the restaurants. We were turned away many times (for different reasons) since 2 years ago. Some of the 'reasons' or what we consider as excuses were
1. No tables available due to covid rules (when the restaurant was clearly 70% empty, with only 3-4 tables seated), please be noted that this was when all restaurants next to it were almost fully seated when covid rules were a bit more relaxed.
2. No more than 2 people can be seated together at the same table (or even separated but adjoining table), noted that this was also when the rules were relaxed as the end of pandemic.
3. Long waiting time due to Ramadan. One time during Ramadan last year (2021), we came at around 6pm, were told that it's full due to people waiting to break fast and told to come back later. We understood well and only came back at 8pm. Turned away again saying restaurant was full and might have to wait another hour, or might not even get a table that evening. We thought it was ridiculous because they couldve just told us at the beginning to get dinner elsewhere instead of telling us to come back later and not get served.
Obviously we have a love-hate relationship with this branch because we love all other sushi Zanmai branches but this has got to be the worst among of them. Would NOT recommend unless you come to midvalley Southkey almost every day and would like another choice of restaurant.
Overall, food is okay, bad services, bad attitude, understaffed. Okay for a quick normal dinner, not for occasions and really nothing special about it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Understaffed. Come early to avoid long que. but the floor manager/supervisor is very polite n kind and inform us the “food” waiting time (he said around 30min). It’s bearable though.
Food: excellent. Taste delicious as could remember.
Cleanliness: can be improve. Can see visible stain mark on the table.
