β β β β β This place would either impress or disappoint you, depending on your priorities in a beach resort vacation.
The waters are crystal blue and the sands are unparalleled- very fluffy and powdery white. Amazing private beach with lots of island activities- we did kayaking and ATV just to name a few.
Apart from that, the price point is not commensurate with what you would expect: buildings and facilities are old, quality of food is sub par (like 3 stars hotel standard), pool looks dirty. All in all, it was overpriced for an ok experience.

β β β β β I will definitely suggest this resort to everyone. What you get is compatible with what you pay. The room is basic, but the facility and service are much beyond my expectations. I have a few issues with my room (no water heater, broken toilet pump, and broken lock door), but when I call the operator, the team arrives in front of my door within 5 minutes and resolves the problem.
We also like our karaoke session, but we have not reserved the room because we were unaware that it must be reserved ahead of time. When the staff had to inform us, they apologised politely several times. The fault is actually ours, but the staff makes it seem like it's theirs. (disclaimer: I think the mic quite sensitive, probably need some fixing).
We are also late when checking out, which causes the van to be waiting for us. The staff, on the other hand, made no attempt to hide their displeasure, simply saying "it's okay" and smiling. I know we have actually cause an extended problem to them, but they are very patient with all the guests (I'm sorry).
The food is acceptable. Some of them are nice, some are not. Fortunately, there are a variety of foods to pick from, so I can eat what I want.
The private beach is magnificent. There are a cute gym there, definitely suggest all guest to try to build muscle the ancient way :)
There are also yoga class free everyday at 10am (except tuesday). There are a few pool tables, hand football, trapezium for kids (I suppose adult also can enjoy).

β β β β β Beautiful and amazing location. Rooms are big but aren't in the most best shape. Service was mostly good but especially the restaurants could need some more training for the staff.
You definitely go there for the beach and location. Everything else is second.

β β β β β What a wonderful trip with my fiancee, I have been to a lot of beaches, I would say this is the best resort I have ever visited before. Many thanks to Kara and Shane, you guys are top-notch!!! I hope you two get high paid-up cos both of you deserve that. Staff friendly, best facilities, pristine beach, soft sand and many more to find out yourself. We even extend one more day to chill in our room while looking at the sea. The exercise and fresh air rejuvenated me. Oh ya!! You all should try out their yoga class, Kara is a professional yoga teacher, sweating everywhere after the class. We will definitely come back to visit this beautiful place again. Thankyou^^

β β β β β its was a very good resort, while i have some reservations about the food the staff was fantastic, all very friendly and tried their best to make our stay as comfortable as possible. the beach was a 6/5 and the water was choppy. they had a wide array of amenities and activities, my party went for the turtle swimming and coral reef combo and it was a fantastic experience, 4.5/5 would definitely go again

β β β β β 4 nights stay at The Taaras. Booked 4 rooms (Cliff Premiere Suite). The rooms were all so clean & nice. Beautiful resort, staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Downside is, not many choice for breakfast and problem getting a buggy to and fro hotel room-lobby. The waiting time was pretty long that we had to walk to the hotel room with small kids. Also, there wasn't any queue area for the buggy. We were there waited for so long then came a family just hop on the buggy. Very disappointing!

β β β β β Probably the best Resort in all of Malaysia and the credit goes to the Crystal clear water and the grand Suite rooms. We had a time of our lives, the service is exceptional. The staff and crew are very Friendly and hospitable. The food & beverage manager is very friendly and so is the Guest relations manager.
The only drawback is the culinary experience - the food & recipe needs a major revamp and the chefs team needs some extensive training when it comes to catching up with basics. Please do scale up on the food guys, then the overall 360' experience will be fulfilled.

β β β β β One of the best hotel/ resort that I have been. The rooms are clean, a little bit basic, but the service and restaurants were awesome. We had an infant with us and the restaurants helped prepare food for the infant for every meal which was amazing. We went during the Ramadan period which is quite empty so the service may have been much better. The beach and the sea is amazing, water were so clear and we were swimming with the turtles and fishes. The turtle sighting was so easy as it was very close to the private beach. We also went paddling in the see through canoe and saw a lot of fishes and turtles too.
The only area that can be improved is perhaps the hotel can help ensure that the enjoyment/relaxation of the hotel guest were not disrupted. There was a group of guests who were blasting β Chinese technoβ music at the beach during dinner time. The supposedly relaxing environment by the hotelβs private beach suddenly became like a cheap night market feel.
Other than that everything else was good.
