Newfound love for roast duck I always love my roast duck - lucky for me, I can count a neighbourhood restaurant in my hometown to get a good duck whenever I crave for one. While in Klang Valley - Loong Fong, Sunrise and Chef On are some of the names that I would go for a good old style Chinese roast duck. In come The Traveling Duck, a newcomer in the already congested roast duck places. Claimed to use Bayswater-style roasts of London Duck in which Irish-origin fat-rich breed of fowl that are covered for their tender, juicy and apparently fragrant taste properties. The first outlet is located in Tropicana Gardens Mall in Kota Damansara area, and I finally got to taste and compare the difference between the so-called imported duck with our local variety. Outlet is rather compact and quite hard to accommodate large group without prior reservation. Another thing that I noticed was how small the tables were.. squarish 70x70cm which made it hard to squeeze many dishes on the table without feeling cramped. โ—พLondon roast duck - I ordered only quarter duck (lower part) priced at RM40. Half duck clocks at RM70 in which one could easily get whole roast duck at their regular stall. It only took a bite to convince me that this was not the regular duck. The skin was glistening and crispy - in fact my daughter commented that it was very good (coming out from the pickiest eater in the family means something), and she even are the meat which she claimed tender, clean and aromatic.. something she hardly eat. I concur! Should have ordered half duck instead โ—พDeep fried eggplant with oatmeal - not oily at all plus the crunchy oat meal for that crispiness โ—พPan fried homemade chicken meat cake - with added shredded kafir lime leaves, it came with Thai chilly dipping sauce. A good starter to a meal. โ—พStir fried 2 types of vermicelli with seafood - using both regular vermicelli and tong fun, one scoop and I was like "whoa!" Because it was packed with wok hei, something that I didn't expect as I just want the kids to eat their lunch. โ—พHor fun soup - quite generous filling but could do more with soup. โ—พSpicy & Sour soup with assorted mushrooms - a tad too sourish to my liking. Considering that these ducks traveled over 10,000km (hence the name) to get to our country, it may have justified its hefty price tag at RM140 per bird. Different from the regular Chinese roast duck.

Best duck I have eaten in KL so far. Price may be higher, 1/2 duck for 70 rm, but it is worth the taste and the experience. Duck meat is tender And duck skin is thin and crispy! 1/2 a duck is just nice for 2 persons. If you are a big eater, you can probably finish it by yourself. Noodle is a bit plain. But the basmati oil rice is fluffy and yummy. Will come back again!

Duck is the high light. Best duck I have tasted in PJ. Crispy skin, juicy meat. The brinjal oat is nice fry with chilli leave, fragrance and crispy. Difficult to find place to sit during lunch on week end. Must try for duck lovers.

Duck was ok. Nothing surprisingly delicious, sauce of the duck was too salty, but surprisingly too expensive. Noodle was good. The texture was so good, only portion is a little bit too small. I gave 3 stars was because of the imbalance of the price and portion.

The bamboo noodles is nice and bouncy, the steamed basmathi rice was very fragrant, I would highly recommend them. Though the London Duck is better than the average but it was probably on a diet so it was not as fat as I expected it to be ? Overall worth a try.

Price is definitely on the high side. Half duck 70, acceptable as London duck at other places are more than this. Half chicken 60 Fried rice 28 Rice rm3 Plain noodle rm8 Small plater appetiser squid or prawn fritters rm24 Service 8/10 they have 10 staff running, so service is quite parralel. Food comes very fast. Duck and chicken were soft and nice. Not much on the menu to order. With that price I can eat very good dishes other places.

Small menu with roasted and smoked duck as the center of its offering. We ordered both the ducks and they were very delicious. It is a perfect choice for those who have duck cravings. The side dishes (prawns, squid and eggplant) were flavorful too. An experience worth revisiting.
