★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Place looked 60-70% full. Upon being seated, waiter offered water but never came back. Had to stand up and look for a waiter multiple times until someone came and took the order. Drinks (a canned soft drink with ice, which I opened and poured myself) took around 20 minutes to arrive. Regarding the food: Was happy to see duck with orange sauce in the menu. The meat looked cooked properly, however there was no orange flavor at all, and barely any sauce. A side order of baked vegetables was partly burned and partly cooked for so long the vegetables looked wrinkled and dehydrated. A side salad I ordered had a texture that felt like dirt, initially thought it was black pepper, until closer inspection.
Perhaps the hotel and restaurant are faced with the trained staff shortages which are widespread in Johor due to the (at the time of this review) recent reopening of the border with Singapore, and resort to newer, less trained staff. But regardless, I think they should then aim to offer dishes and serve a maximum number of guests which is in line with their current staffing capacity. Quite a disappointment, hope it improves.

They are very helping in choosing food and choose me a good table to have a good meal.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dine in and we arrived late, close to 9pm after work and check-in at hotel.
All diners in my party were singing praises of the soup and pasta. But my order of beef burger was overcooked (I asked for medium, it came being well done) and burger patty was too salty. Waiting time for burger was 30 minutes and they have aptly informed me of the longer waiting time. Guess I am disappointed with quality of burger despite waiting for a bit.
Chef gave complimentary dessert as they got one of our orders wrong. The desserts were the highlight of the dinner. Should have stuck with pizza or pasta dining in an Italian restaurant.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First time here, saw a lot of good reviews therefore decided to give it a try. To be very frank the price is reasonable (if compared to SGD), however I guess I will not go back again.
I ordered chef special and recommendation dish. Kind of disappointed with the taste.
Bread - nice texture and goes well with their truffle vinegar and olive oil
Cauliflower truffle soup- tasteless and not much truffle or cauliflower taste
Cod fish - it does not goes well with the sauce
Beef - ask for medium cook but come with very raw and still bloody, we requested to recook
Prawn - nothing special
Overall the food kind of disappointed but their service is still good :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Me and my fiancée are impressed by the dishes as they are very unique and delicious! The staffs are very polite and helpful. Although our squid-ink pasta was missed out and served late, the staff apologized and gave us an extra fruit punch drink for free. Apart from above, they will give you complimentary bread while waiting for your meal. Overall, foods are excellent. We will definitely come back and eat again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had called Tosca in advance from overseas to make a reservation here as it was for a birthday dinner, and i wanted everything to go perfectly. However, it was super upsetting when they told me that i did not have a booking when i arrived one week later! At least the restaurant was 90% empty. Can you imagine booking in advance at a supposedly reputable hotel's own restaurant for an important event and they lost your booking?! They didn't seem to care much bout losing a customer's booking either. THEN, they forgot to put the balsamic vinegar on the side for the mozzarella cheese salad, AND forgot the eggplant for the grilled veggies. I should maybe have taken the loss of booking as a bad sign. But it would be difficult to find another restaurant in a foreign country at the last minute. At least the pizza was alright. They did give a complimentary slice of cake (which supposedly doesn't taste good.. i didn't try it). The prices on the bill also didn't tally with the prices on the menu which was a bit.. strange? Wouldn't recommend nor visit this place again.
