Being the last hotel that still has rooms, the guy at the reception let a small laugh and tell us the price for the double room is 290RM, same rate as Shari-La, no wifi, no hot water, no breakfast, no air-con. The room is dirty, the floor and walls of bathroom were wet and sandy. Also many mosquitoes in the room. Wifi is available at the reception, but they doesnt allow anyone to enter the reception area after 7pm. Many people and guests who needed to use the wifi sat by the walls and roadside surrounding the reception gate, in the dark, until a tropical downpour sends them away. I asked politely whether they have another room with the same rate (as the shower head looks rusty) and the guy at the reception raised the voice at me to ask: "whats the problem with that room? Dont ask for more trouble.. as long as water come out, can...." The next morning, a caucasian guest knock on our door to ask whether we saw his adaptor plug, which we didnt. He seems to have lost it and reception obviously doesnt care. At night, you can hear party music and the whole place is unlit and looks like still in construction. The attitude of the reception is definitely the worst in Malaysia. They employ mainly staff of non-Malay and non-Chinese origins, no Malay, no Chinese, no English were spoken. No wonder they are the last hotel with rooms while everywhere else is full. Location is bad. I would rather donate the money than spend it on them.

Our rooms were broken into and our bags opened and rifled through, more than RM200 and our phones were stolen. When reporting to the management, they were not surprised nor helpful leading me to assume this is a regular occurrence at their establishment. Absolutely no security or CCTV is present and the door locks are very flimsy, we felt very unsafe. Other than that, the sheets had stains on them and there is no hot water. When requesting housekeeping because of the state the room was given to us in, we were informed all their staff were busy. The wifi was also down (seemed to be out of order for a while now) and they had put up a sign claiming they had no responsibility to provide wifi despite advertising their wifi facility. I would urge anyone considering Tropicana Inn to have a look at the place before committing to it due the lack of safety and security more than anything else.
M	Mohd Yusree on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good place to stay for young family and couple but not for diving. Far from any diveshop. However it clean and well manage. Need to hike a little bit. Wifi free but coverage is limited. No line for Umobile.

The room was clean and comfortable and overall very pleasant. If possible request a room close to the reception and far from the power generator. Also be aware that the wifi is available (8/2018) only in the reception area.

Room were dirty no cleaning service and not even provided broom to do own room cleaning. 1 plug only for 1 room. NOTHING provided! Only tiny soap bar. No hanger, no cup for drink, just nothing. Far from long jetty beach 800m walking and need to go up with stairs. Don’t stay here or else you will regret. If receptionist was good still can tolerate but their attitude totally out!!
M	Mira Sukor on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was my 4th stay in Perhentian and this was my first time choosing fan room. Since it was school holiday, not much choice left. We booked it last minute via Agoda. I was too worried if there will be no room available when we arrives. Fortunately everything was fine. For me. Its one of nice room with reasonable price along Long Beach, nothing much to complain as they provide 24 hours electricity. The room is cool & clean. I personally would suggest to everyone else to stay here if you want a nice & reasonable price place to stay along Long Beach.

Room was comfortable (feels a bit sandy after few days because it’s normal we lived near beach), the staff are very friendly and helpful (if you’re nice to them, make them as your friend!) book their snorkelling trips also, the cheapest I found (ask kid name rosu from waniey to bring you for snorkelling, he is a cool kid!) Ps: the only thing I disliked is their towel, feels old and having discolouration
