★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very interesting dinner choice we made to avoid crowded dining options in Bangsar. Since it's our celebratory birthday girl request for a Japanese dinner, I decided to check out U Restaurant... Our dinner order included Rib Eye Beef Teppanyaki, Tempura Moriawase, Sakura Sashimi, Chicken Teppanyaki, Gindara Teriyaki - Cod fish, Soft shell ? Maki ....and Shabu Shabu!
Seems like a lot...but we habis makan the 5 of us??, which means all the dishes are delicious but also means the dishes portion are not big. Needless to say the bill was non-standard..?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very overpriced and the main courses was just average. Had the lunch set, where I requested the grilled prawns without the sauce. Sauce would have made it worse. The yakitori prepared Shio-style was good though.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a wonderful experience with my husband one evening when we decided to have Japanese food nearby. The place looked magical, very tastefully decorated for Chinese New Year. We ordered torched salmon rolls to start with, they were delicious, and our main courses of Wagyu beef and cod fish were light, scrumptious and beautifully presented. The chef is very skilful in Japanese dining . The last thing I would like to comment on is attentive and polite staff, they knew exactly well the menu and worked well with the kitchen. Hidden Gem of the neighborhood dining !

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Saved by its ambience and polite wait staff, food was sadly a miss. Miso Black Cod (chef's recommendation) - unimpressed and confused over why it is recommended. For a price tag of RM138, I certainly expected more than a slab of cod, 4 strands of broccolini and 3 artistic dots of sauce. Cod wasn't flavorful and in fact the broccolini was the star of the dish - perfectly sautéed and seasoned. 'U' Fried Rice with Crab Meat (also recommended) - was as expected of a sambal fried rice typical to any other restaurant. Verdict: if you're not particular about food and you're looking for a quiet romantic ambience, this place is for you.
