★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food came out extremely slow. Went around 6.45pm and so many dishes were already sold out. Tables were crammed with minimal physical distancing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Generous portion. Fried fish was unique - deboned and stuffed with fish cake. Yong tou fu's gravy was good. Steamed chicken was tender. Come here for a great hearty meal.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The restaurant is very small, meant for only 6-7 tables but the owner chose to squeeze and put like 10 tables, super noisy, echo, crammed. Food waiting time was more than 1 hour+, they clearly couldn’t manage the number of customers.
Noisiest and the most unpleasant dining experience. Food is quite nice but sorry I would not come back ever again!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A golden oldies restaurant that has been in the neighbourhood for more than 20 years. Normally very much crowded on the weekends so I would suggest that you call up and make reservation if possible --- especially if you are coming as a larger crowd.
They are most famous for their free range chicken (hence the name village chicken). The stuffed fish is very nice as well (but a bit on the pricey side). Curry fish head is a MUST try as well if you love to drown your rice in the spicy and coconut infused curry sauce. You have a choice of ordering white rice or chicken rice. My suggestion is that if you are going for the curry fish head ... get the plain white rice instead.
The chicken rice compliments the village chicken.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been passing by this restaurant many times but on why I never dine here until recently, it really beats me ?? everytime I passed by, normally on weekends, the restaurant was packed with hungry diners.
This restaurant is an old establishment in SS2 area with their own legion of loyal customers. I had to call few days in advance to reserve a table for the family to avoid disappointment. Sure enough, they were full house when we arrived around 7pm++
◾signature village chicken - using free range chicken, the moist and juicy chicken was drenched in an aromatic combination of superior soy sauce and oil. Just the sauce is enough to make the young ones scrambled for rice. I love how the huge chicken has this natural sweetness to its meat.
◾Village fried fish - essentially deboned ma yau fish with its flesh reconstructed into fish paste and then deep fried. One of their signature dish and we loved it.
◾Pai kuat Wong - something that both adult and children love.
◾Curry fish head - another reason to add more rice to the meal.
◾Stir fried green dragon vegetable with bean sprouts for that crunchy texture.
◾Cantonese style noodle - gotta love crispy noodle doused with the wok hei filled eggy sauce.
With more than 20 years in business, they show no sign of slowing down. In fact, it is almost impossible to get table without reservation on weekends.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The meal is generally good, but the boneless Ma yau fried fish is the best. It's a firm favourite among individuals who despise fish bones.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We are regulars here for many years and the food quality is consistently good over the years. We only patronize during weekdays (early dinner) to avoid the crowd during weekends. Almost all their dishes are decent especially free range chicken, we like their claypot curry vegetables too.
