★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There’s one word that describes my experience with Vision First Optic: Exceptional.
I needed new glasses so I decided to check out reviews on Google. Vision First Optic caught my eye immediately. They had 291 reviews with an average 5 star rating. It’s pretty rare to see a rating this high. Usually someone is unhappy about something and this affects the overall rating. Apparently, that’s not the case with Vision First - it seems that virtually all of their customers are happy. Based on my own experience, I can see why.
I was offered a great price without the need to haggle. The pricing was competitive when compared to offers that I had received elsewhere. The eye testing was very detailed and careful which is critical as I have a complex prescription (multifocal lenses for near and far-sighted vision). Patrick took his time during testing to ensure that the results reflected exactly what I need. He is a very careful and experienced Optometrist who knows his profession well.
Patrick is very ably assisted by Thivian, who is also very knowledgeable and professional. Thivian helped me with frame selection and other customer service decisions. Both Patrick and Thivian are exceptionally courteous, pleasant and polite. It was an absolute pleasure to deal with them both.
The glasses are excellent and the prescription is perfect. All of my future purchases will be made with Vision First Optic – they have most certainly earned my continued loyalty.
I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Vision First Optic – especially to follow expats.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had the best service from Patrick and his team, so helpful choosing frames, great with eye testing, and fitting and post-purchase service - and the homemade carrot cake is excellent! Will definitely be returning for future scripts ❤️(just an fyi they don’t do the glaucoma puff test at optometrists in Malaysia from what I can gather)

I’m really impressed with their service. Great experience. Mr Patrick help me examine my eye and explaining in super detailed. He explained and adjust the fitting of the glasses carefully to make sure me understand and wear glasses comfortably.
And I love my new multi focal new spec.They don’t mind me bringing my own frames.
Highly suggested for those who're looking for professional and experienced eye consultant in Penang.
I surely will come back to this shop for my next glasses.
