Unique heong piah baked in clay oven fueled by grated coconut shell which gives the fragrant aroma of the biscuits. Also bought their delicious Kaya Kok, crispy flaky pastry with not too sweet kaya.

A rather famous cookie shop selling traditional home baked fragrant cookie (Heong Peah). I’ve patronized for years and it is still baked in a large earthen kiln akin to a tandoor. It’s crispy on the outside and gooey caramel filling made from palm sugar. It’s unique to Ipoh.

Probably this is the last remaining bakery that still produces heong peang in the traditional tandoor (urn) with coconut husk as fuel. It's located in Kampung Gunung Rapat and not too difficult to find with Google Drive or Waze. The heong peang crust is very flaky with decent amount of molasses. However, it wasn't fragrant enough seem to lack fried onions. On an overall, it's still better than many other outlets.

The heong peah is charcoal baked and it's freshly made everyday. The pastry is very crispy and flaky, the filling is abit more firmer but not too sweet. Price wise it's a bit expensive maybe because it's handmade and charcoal baked. There are many other stalls selling heongpeah too in gunung rapat, but it seems this is the only few that uses charcoal baked method. 10 pieces for 9 ringgit.

Overall, It's not bad. Can choose some healthy heong peah yeah (I think there are those without sugar or rather with no filling). Prices are reasonable.

Good but a bit expensive. Guess it's due to its popularity among outstation folks. The Heong Peah pastry is really very nice, compared with others which is not as flavourful. The twisted biscuits are very2 good. 5* for the twists!!

Nice and crispy heong peah. One of the better ones in Ipoh. Homemade using traditional oven. Usually our last stop before exiting to NSE. They also sell a variety of other biscuits and snacks.
