โ โ โ โ โ a budget hotel in a shophouse lot within two blocks separated by a backstreet. rooms ranges from a single to family rooms with 2 doubles and 2 singles but with limited space inside. clean and tiled rooms with small toilet. clean towel and good bedding. ironing and hot/cold water dispenser on each floor. most rooms have no windows. strategically located across the street in front of Queensbay Mall but not recommended for vacation due to the room size

โ โ โ โ โ Every hotel has its advantages and disadvantages. In regards to that, this hotel, surprisingly, expanded to two separate buildings: the front and the back. The front building is directly facing the mall whereas the back is not facing anything.
First and foremost about this hotel is its location which is situated opposite the mall. Secondly, its cleanliness meets my expectation but it requires a lot of improvement. Thirdly, the wifi speed is recommended to be upgraded. However, the biggest downside about living here; this hotel is made up of hollow walls that causes noise and sound to penetrate it. In other words, the environment is very noisy all day long and it gets worse at night during sleeping hours. In spite of the hollow walls, living in the front building on the ground floor, there goes an inconsiderate receptionist who works night shifts, has his music and videos on loud speaker mode at the maximum volume while singing at the top of his lungs.

โ โ โ โ โ I had really really bad experience with this hotel staff.. They should not took like Apek what we call for old people Chinese man to work there without knowledge or see the news.. I reach the hotel without any taxi during that time at 2.30am and I come down to penang due to take vaccine which no need any police letter and just show the apps can already he not allowed me to check in and even ask me to go out can't stay at the hotel lobby busy to watch football. At least show some courtesy as I'm a women to stay out from the hotel at 2.30am with nobody, no cars, no grab and no transportation at all without offering me to stay at the lobby afraid of the police come and check. I understand your afraidness for the police summons but if going to be summons I'm the one who will get it first to do this interstate travel just showing my vaccine apps. Please get your staff more knowledgeable on this.. You can just ask me to screenshot and print out as reference if got checking.

โ โ โ โ โ A year later after my stay, I start receiving suspicious emails for my bookings with my name and emails. Definitely not a place to stay for vacation. But if u are on a day business trip itโs good. One star for location, second star for cleanliness. Third star for the bedding and towels which improved after my first stay.

โ โ โ โ โ If you like staying in a low budget hotel, with a cramp room with no chair or working table, dusty floors, non functioning aircon (suddenly hot and suddenly cold in the middle of the night), smokey smell room even though all rooms are "strictly non smoking rooms", old smelly pillows and bedsheets, then this is the hotel for you.
0.5star from me for a 1star hotel.
Though credit must be given to the friendly staff, they did their best. Just the hotel room is bad.

โ โ โ โ โ This being a shoplot hotel, you can choose being "landlocked" without windows or pay extra for a view. I took a double bed with a window facing Queensbay Mall (Room 201) for RM130 (with additional RM50 cash as deposit as at Jan 2022). This is a budget hotel for a quick crash and shower and I find it is suitable for exactly this. It is what it is so don't expect it to be deluxe quality hotel. The bed is slanted towards the headboard (heavy wear and tear?) but I still slept fine. The toilet is long and narrow and is acceptable. The window stretches across the entire width of the room - so if you draw the curtains - you have a wide view of the outside world. Parking is RM5 per day with unlimited entry and exits. You get 2 mineral water bottles, no kettle and a working TV. Location is superb: Queensbay Mall and plenty of eateries around the vicinity. Its ok for the budget traveler.
