We were there for a couple of hours with the intention of enjoying the scenery. Highly recommended for those who look for some moments of peace and quiet. Not as cold as Cameron Highlands but quite wet with frequent rain fall hence the need for an umbrella or light raincoat. Facilities, building, structures are in need of refurbishment. There are houses or chalets that can be rented but only one is fit to accommodate guests.

Me and my family had such great experience beginning from riding the jeep up the hill untill we've reached there...one can also go up by hiking for about 3 hours for those who's adventurous..so much greenery and such cool and serene place. Nice built of old colonial bungalows which you can spend the night there too.. We love it so much and took a lot of pictures....one thing which quite spoiled was the cafe was closed or it could have been better to sit and relax with some hot yummy cafe latte...

Nice place to visit for some peace and quiet. Ride up by jeep is RM10 per head for adults. Come early to buy your tickets as there is a certain quota per day. There are only like 4 trips up per day. We came at 9am and can only get tickets for the last trip of the day at 2.30pm. Ride up is exciting. Upon arrival can feel the cool fresh air. Really nice and quiet. You can bring a book to read or just enjoy the nice cool environment. Last trip down is at 4.30pm...

It was a truly wonderful experience and with the effort going up. The place is still not harmed by commercialisation. Luckily the weather was nice. The counter to get tickets for the Jeep ride opens at 8am. But there was already a queue when we arrived at 7am. The first Jeep leaves 8.30am and the return would be 11am. If you wish to stay longer, you'll have to pay extra. The Jeep drivers are very experienced but the ride is very rough. So be ready if you have travel sickness. The weather is not too cold, so many folks wear shorts, long pants not required. Wearing good hiking shoes is advisable. If you are staying over night, you'll need to bring your own food.

Bukit Larut is also known as Maxwell Hill. There areΒ 2 waysΒ to reach the summit of Maxwell Hill.... hiking or taking a jeep up! The duration of the jeep ride is about 30 minutes (13km). The beautiful hill that chisels the horizon with its endless viridian strokes. The top of Bukit Larut is cold and foggy. Bukit Larut is perfect for outdoor lovers and hikers.

Beautiful sceneries and nature presentation along the way to the summit. Too sad the chalet, pave road and facilities were abandoned since last year

The Land Rover jeep service to the hilltop is temporarily unavailable due to road repairs from recent landslides. However visitors can still hike up along the tarred road between 7:00 am to 8:00 pm daily.

Bukit Larut - Formerly known as Maxwell Hill/Bukit Maxwell which is situated in Taiping, Perak Darul Ridwan, Malaysia. It's Peninsular Malaysia's olders and past British Hill Station with the height of 1036m asl. A stark contrast from the steamy of Taiping, the town it overlook - pine trees, fog/mist, abandoned cottages and atmosphere with plenty of cold and rain. Beware of the leeches/pacat, the rain are almost daily occurrence in the District of Taiping, Perak. The route to the top of the hill was attractive with the paths through the jungle as alternatives to the paved road used by jeeps. The Telecoms Tower dominates the far side of the ridge. You can accept the challenge to hike all the way up, need a guide (RM 15) and permits (RM 10) before entering. Steep path to the summit, it takes 3 - 4 hours (one way). There's a rest/stop hut for hikers at the middle part of the jungle trail - Ranting Waterfall before making a steep ascent through the forest that thicker as a trail climb into the clouds. The bungalows on the top are open for group stays and you also can camp near the waterfall or at the bottom of the hill. ?️ ?
