The biscuit shop for my family for the last 40 plus years. Missing terribly their tau sar piah (the soft ones wrapped in paper) since it was discontinued a few years back. Still go there to buy biscuits for friends each time I'm in Ipoh.

Their pastries size had sightly smaller than usual. Brought them as a gift to some friends. Hope the taste remain unchanged.

Specialist in meat floss lotus paste biscuits with 4 different fillings and flavours. Delicate to bite and not too sweet. They have other varieties of biscuits for sale that are neatly packed. Looks fresh and appetising.

yummy! Perfect souvenir for family and friends. Personally prefer the Original compared to the Pandan, didn't know meat floss and lotus paste can be such a good pair :) we have the option to get individual packs or boxes, at the same rate. must try!

Their meat floss lotus paste traditional pastry is my personal favourite. There's also many others like pandan (sweeter), as well as bakwa. We tried a black sesame hiong peah, it was okay.

A very pleasant experience! I ordered these from their online store and it was fuss-free. Their online store website is very user friendly. The delivery was prompt and quicker than the duration mentioned on their page. Really appreciate the time and effort that the CHG team have taken to securely pack the items individually. Each item came in perfect condition all the way from Ipoh to Selangor. Grateful that I did not have a bad experience with J&T handling my CHG box. The BBQ Meat Mooncakes did not disappoint at all! They’re smoky, savory, and sweet just as expected. Soft thin skin with very generous filling. The plain mooncakes were very soft and fresh too. The Sat Kei Mah (Soft Crispy Candy Biscuit) was a highlight too - soft, fresh and not overly sweet. Price wise, I think the items are priced reasonably given that the seller would have to incur extra cost for the delivery packaging (bubble wraps and boxes are not cheap) and manpower to pack the items. Cost of ingredients may not be the same each year too (especially during difficult times like now - logistics are much more complicated) so it’s understandable that the price of the mooncakes fluctuate too. The CHG team also responds to enquiries very promptly on their social media accounts and have been very helpful. This is my first experience and definitely will not be my last. I can’t wait to return to Ipoh to visit their physical shop!

Very famous among Malaysian. Their dou sha bin inside got chicken floss or bak gua. Very special. Their peanut candle( include walnut) is soft one which also very special. A must buy souvenir in Ipoh. But it could be at higher end rm4 per pcs ( pricing refer to photo)

Ching Han Guan (鍾漢元) is a household name as far as traditional pastries go in Ipoh. A good heritage and reputation in the quality and variety of pastries available at this shop. Signature product is the meat floss lotus biscuit. Like the salted egg variety. You can order festival biscuits or wedding biscuits for the occasions. Across the main road, Jalan Sultan Iskandar (Hugh Low Street), biscuits lovers can find another famous biscuit shop: Guan Heong (源香饼舗). Make your choice!
