So easy to give this place a 5 star review.
The porridge was very tasty, not just bland white. I had a big bowl of fish porridge for 7 ringgits ($1.75), smooth and well seasoned with ginger and green onions.
The Hainan chicken was tender but not too soft. I still couldn’t find the same taste after many decades living in San Francisco. This was exactly how I remembered the taste of Hainan chicken I had as a child when our parents took us to a Chinese restaurant located at a bus station in Saigon.
Hot porridge in the heat of Penang!? You would think. But the place was open and well ventilated, the soup helped re-hydrate the body, the fish and chicken replenish our protein. All that with a very small bill presented..
Now back home, I do miss this porridge shop a lot.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good quality traditional Cantonese rice porridge with either chicken or fish. Delicious, clean, cheap. (1 bowl is less than 2 USD) Friendly service. The century egg is a nice add-on.
Great meal that’s gentle on the stomach but still satisfying and filling.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A traditional Chinese restaurant served chicken rice/porridge. fish (鱼生) porridge and the chicken (白斩鸡) is my must order dish on every visit. Their rice is full of aroma, I even can eat it alone.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Having visited for the first time, I am quite impressed with the past reviews that I read, however the taste of the food was not that great. It could have been much better than I thought. The Fish Porridge taste was just average in my opinion but price is reasonable and acceptable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I heard about this place a while back and today I finally had a chance to try it. I order the steamed chicken and fish meat porridge. I have to tell you, this is one super good porridge (Cantonese style "Chok"). It is very tasty and the owner is generous with the garnish of gingers and spring onion. And the steamed chicken. OMG. It was so tender and silky smooth. I totally enjoy both and highly recommended to all. It is also a clean place and reasonably price. The young owner is a second-generation successor after his mother (30+ years in food business). He has refined the menu and focus on porridge and steamed chicken. Good on him.
