Honest Dr Daniel Chong. Did a good job for my dental health. Scaling and repairing broken filling. Give sound advice with pictures. Recommended.

If you are the "old is gold" type, then this place may appeal to you. The doc doesn't like doing root canal and can't do implants.

I've been there, Dr Daniel is good but I just have to leave a review for his assistant. There is only one. What a piece of work she is, a bad one. I called to ask for opinion for my daughter's milk teeth. I haven't got the chance to even ask for her opinion she has already bombarded me, 'your daughter wants to open her ah?' 'She wants injection ah?' 'She wants her tooth extracted? 'She would be so scare!' And then begun to lecture me, 'you as parents you need to tell your kids...' I tried to interject by saying that's why I am calling to seek opinion. If you open your ears you would heard we waited 2 weeks to observe her tooth situation before seeking for an opinion. Then she yelled 'I am giving you my opinion!!!' I don't see how your assuming questions are considered opinions. Clearly, this is not a place to seek for opinion. You get attitude instead. Also stop assuming you know everything. Clearly you don't with your assuming attitude. Your attitude is perhaps one of the major reasons children are scared to visit the dentist. Just a question, is that how you drive your dentistry business? Making sure children are scared and then their teeth become rotten so in the end they come to you? Not a bad approach, just unethical behavior coming from a dentist practice. Let me teach you how to offer a healthier opinion. 'If it's your daughter first time, I would recommend a teeth health check first, so she can get comfortable before we actually consider a tooth extraction.' That isn't so hard isn't it? You just have to use your heart. Dr Daniel himself is experienced, caring and funny. He actually busted my upper lip when he fixed my tooth, I wasn't even bothered by it because he is good! I didn't leave any review then because there isn't a need to, unfortunately, her assistant bad attitude is just inexcusable. Definitely won't recommend for a friendly service. If there is a way I could bypass the assistant, I would.

I am posting this review out of gratitude. Dr Daniel has β€œsaved my life” two major times. (The rest were routine cleaning). Once I was pregnant and had a filling that kept coming out (stressful?!!). I went to a total of 3 dentists (one repeatedly), all had 5 star reviews on Google in Penang. When I finally came to Dr Daniel, he diagnosed it properly, gave me a couple of β€œpredictions” about the tooth which all came to pass, and the filling stuck in all the way until I gave birth (which did not happen with the rest of the dentists). The second time was today. I was in massive pain, headache for a week and toothache for a day. I had a feeling I had an abscessed tooth. Everyone told me after root canal, it would take 2-3 days to feel better. I walked out of the dentist feeling like a hero. No pain. Waited for the anesthesia to wear off. No pain. My family and I continue to go to Dr. Daniel and we are so grateful for his willingness to continue treating his regular patients despite him being in a position to enjoy retirement. May God bless him!
