★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As I looked down the course of the river channel, I was transported back in time to a small arms fracas, whereupon my guard unit was attacked by a fast moving clipper going three sheets to the wind. "Avast" I bellowed across its wake, as if I could turn it around by will alone. Hearing me cry, one of my foes responded with a blast of cannister shot upon the bastion. I focus in on the menacing nuggets of wrought iron and see my impending doom, at which point I return to reality, take hold of myself and consider my options for lunch. Perhaps it's time to stop playing 'Total War.'

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Please be reminded that the fort is rebuilt only a few years back! The original fort was destroyed save the A Famosa gate during the Napoleonic era. The local government restored the fort along the newly-unearthed foundations. So yes, it is not a crumbling heap of ruins, but a restored portion!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Found this brown fort by accident, it is located next to Stadhuys, just walk further up to the cruise ticket locket.
The ruins is almost 2 centuries old, you can walk up to the top using stairs and see few canons there. Surrounded with river and main road, you can also hear people singing near by, quite a pleasant sight. Those brown bricks also a nice back ground for photo taking, just go down to the stairs near the ground.
