Victory fountain is good well maintained. There is a church near by. From here there is a way to church ruins on top of mountain.

The Queen Victoria Fountain was built in 1901 by the British and is still standing as elegant as ever until this very day. Although more than a hundred years old, this fountain is still functioning well and is probably the only functioning colonial water fountains in Malaysia.

The fountain, as the name suggests was built to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria. It is next to the Christ church and Tan Beng Siew clock tower. It has the I love Malacca board on one side for the instagramer’s delight The whole area with the Stadthys at one side and the church and the clock tower on the other, makes it a great place to spend some time and click pictures. The place also has a line of shops just opposite selling regular tourist wares and one can drive a good bargain.

The Queen Victoria's Fountain is another colonial relic which can be seen in the Dutch Square in the city center of Malacca. Built in 1904, in celebration of Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee and made of British marble, it is an interesting structure to see when exploring Malacca. While not an elegant masterpiece compared to many statues and fountains you may have seen in Europe, it remains somewhat interesting as there are not many old European fountains to be found in SE Asia. At night the fountain benefits from the floodlighting of the square, meaning you can take decent pictures at that time. In the end, a decent find if you enjoy monument viewing during your travels

Visited in Feb before the MCO. The Queen Victoria's Fountain is a Gothic style fountain in the landmark Dutch Square. The fountain almost seems out of place as it’s not painted red like the rest of the buildings around the square and of course the style is different from the Dutch Reform style of the architecture in the square. Sadly there was no water flowing when I was there as there’s currently a water shortage in Malacca. As Gothic fountains go, there’s nothing special about it, especially as there’s no water.

Some people may talk about the colour of the building or whatsoever, but for me it's the historical value that I care the most. The building and the fountain are proof of colonialism that our ancestors suffer back then. Who would've thought our national anthem was “God Save The Queen” ? we’re just one of Great Britain empire dominions that has never been visited by a Queen or an Empress who claimed to be our ruler.

Victoria Regina, a water fountain erected in 1904 as remembrance to Queen Victoria. Great gothic architecture and design, blends well with the surrounding historical area. Just beside Christ Church and Stadhuys.
