This savoury heaven is served in a rolled-up cone of pandan leaf, wrapped with paper. The generous amount of cai po and tau gey gives these chunky pieces of koay a light yet rich flavour. Maybe well-balanced should be the description to use. Go ahead, be abrupt and order. There is no sense of queue and the stall owners don't give you any clue if they are ready for you.

If you are lucky, you can savor one of the best and economical Fried carrot cake (Char Koay Kak) in town! She doesn’t open her stall every night. I make it a point to buy whenever she opens. She will ask if you like everything in: that means chives and salted vegetables plus egg. That’s the best. A little spicy chilly paste to go with. Takeaway doesn’t add a dime but nicely triple layered wrapped in banana leaf, oil proofed paper and external newspaper. They really sealed in the flavors and keep the dish piping hot!

Taste was authentic and delicious. It was rare for me to have fried carrot cake served in the cone of banana leaf. Excellent street food.

Good size portion and cheap for RM4.50. Taste was average but perhaps I could have requested for a little more flavour. Alright for those trying to cut down on sodium. The seller was also pleasent, friendly and courteous. No complaints here! The next door beverage stall serves up old school coffee and the likes. Notice the art deco even for a RM1.50 Kopi. Some would say it's unnecessary but simple creativity is part of passion which I do applaud and encourage. The drink lady is also pleasent, courteous and friendly. What I did enjoy was the nostolgic Chinese music that was being played. Makes me feel like I'm in 1930's Shanghai. It's little things like this that makes eating out a little more interesting. I shall return for both.
