★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An amazing experience getting so close to Hornbill and the white and yellow birds (expecially this they're not scare of people). We was told The hornbill will usually comes around 3pm and 5pm. Today we waited from around 3pm and get to see the hornbill at 5pm..feed him food when he comes close so he will stay awhile for you to get close. We were told its our lucky day when we get to see him flew over to the cafe! ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Always a delightful destination to interact with hornbills and egrets escaping from their mundane food at the Bird Park aviary, a lifelong sentence in a tropical enclosure. There is the standard Hainanese fare chicken chop (RM34.90++), coconut(RM12.90++) and teh tarik(RM7.90++) but at higher than normal prices for the privilege of sitting on the balcony to share your french fries with the birds. On a quiet afternoon, the owner may offer cut fruit to tempt these feathered friends from their perch, though the star attraction hornbills prefer to catch the papaya cubes in their beaks.

Environment is good. Can enjoy bird park view and have chance to get close with hornbill.
Staff are nice and friendly.
But the food....... Curry puff is the best. Others like mushroom soup and caborana chicken are taste like roadside stall...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This restaurant is located inside the KL bird park and is probably the only restaurant in the vicinity. Ofcourse you do have small kiosks selling snacks and drinks inside the bird park.
After a 2 hour walk we were super hungry and wanted some real food! The entrance to the restaurant is through the gift shop (which we missed and saw this again on our way back).
The restaurant itself is designed to look like a traditional Malaysian house or Rumah Kampung. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is inside the Hornbill enclosure so you’ll have the hornbill come and stare at you eat ?. The restaurant team feeds him with tomatoes and other fresh vegetables, so you can enjoy a meal with the hornbill.
Here’s what we ordered:
1. Malaysian chicken curry and rice: A very flavourful and aromatic curry loaded with chicken, and comes with a cup of rice and fresh veggies and papad / appalam
2. Grilled chicken burger: This is was one the best chicken burgers I have eaten. The juicy chicken patty along with the fresh lettuce and their burger mayo. The burger comes with a generous amount of fries and coleslaw.
3. Chicken satay: We got 6 delicious skewers of satay with peanut sauce.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hornbill Cafe is located at the Bird Park, and it is a incredibly lovely place where you get good food, great service, wonderful ambience and the surprising company of big birds for tea!! The fried banana fritters are to die for, with a crispy coating and comes with a honey dip. I helped myself to 2 servings of this outstanding tea delicacy. I finished off the curry puffs all to myself. Burp. Amazing. The Mee Mamak and the Sarawak Laksa are decent, and the satay was much better. We cleaned off all the dishes in no time. The highlight of course, was the company of the potato chip chomping Hornbill, who popped by to say hello. Monsieur Hornbill was HUGE, and friendly. None of the birds pecked at our meals and were very well behaved. Can't think of a better place to chill, with a book, and tea. Highly recommended for a refreshing and breathtaking afternoon. Burp. Very satisfied! Best place to chill in Kuala Lumpur if you love big raintrees, birds and simple nature. Don't worry about the monkeys. The netting keeps them away. Just don't mess with them.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Locals and tourists must experience this place at least once in their lifetime. It’s been 25 yrs since I visited the Bird Park, and this time I came here to try out this restaurant.
Dining out here is fun because it’s open air, overlooking trees, with birds (in this case, egrets) gawking at you and watching their conundrum is quite fun!
My friends and I lepak for 4 hrs! The food was average, and the drinks were ok. The service was good - the staff were friendly and food was fast.
Egrets were fascinating, and one came so close to us, it was attacking our fries!
Maybe it likes yellow, like it’s golden coloured feathers. But it was an experience trying to fend them off; they win, always.
No one and no birds were harmed; we just had some fun together. Overall, I highly recommend a trip to the Bird Park and then here to satisfy hungry tummies at lunch. Alternatively, breakfast starts 9am, then the Bird Park sounds good too.
My friends and I missed the hornbill cos we came at lunch time. Head service told us in the morning and late afternoon is when then hornbill will make appearances.
So, yea I will be back for a photo with the hornbill.
