★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ordered Tsukemen with rich taste and it turned out to be very salty. The chicken tasted very good and special. Will pay a visit to try the soup ramen again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ [non-halal]? KANBE, GF - 08, 163 Retail Park, KL.
This has got to be the best ramen I’ve tried!
I have to warn you that the queue can be VERY long, even when it’s not peak hours. We we’re lucky that day as the queue was not that long and we only waited for about 20 mins before we were seated. However, be prepared to wait 1-2 hours if the queue is super long. I’d suggest going at odd hours.
What I like about KANBE is that you get to customize your bowl of ramen. While you are queuing up, they will give you a custom sheet.
Here’s what we tried.
Flavours:
■ KURO Ramen
■ AKA Ramen
■ YUZU Ramen - I personally don’t like this one
You get to customize the soup base, toppings, spiciness level, firmness of the noodle and even add-ons.
Soup base taste great! Meat is well marinated, tender and soft. Noodle is of good texture, just how I like it. Egg is an add-on by the way.
Also, free flow of green tea! ?
Ramen: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good:
- Definitely top 3 best ramen I've tasted in Malaysia. Personal firmness preference = Hard.
- Soup is above average. Not as rich as expected but moreish hence acceptable.
- Fried chicken is awesomely juicy. The pink vinegar mayonaise is the cherry on top. MUST ORDER.
- Portion is generous for its pricing. Kaedama (extra noodle) for RM5 is a steal. Chashu and pork kakuni are thick too (almost 3x of normal size elsewhere).
- The pickled vegetable (Karashi Takana) is a good flavor change if you are getting bored of the tonkotsu soup halfway (better than the alternative chili powder)
- Complimentary oolong tea is surprisingly rich in taste.
Suggestion:
- Waiting time is infamously long, normally 1 hour even off-peak period. So weigh the pros and cons yourself.
- Prawns in the ebi tempura are not fresh. Its mayonaise doesn't help the flavor either.
- Onsen egg is perfectly cooked. But needed to top up $ for it + with so many other side dishes executed so well, I would skip it.
- Despite bigger in size, the chashu & pork kakuni somehow tasted rather bland. Again - optional while comparing with all the GOODs listed above.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First tried after everyone gave a good review. Always saw friends tag this location. Long Q, the best is to avoid meal time. The soup was rich and thick enough, generous chashu, but I personally prefer it to be thinner but more slices.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First of all, come early, with full party, as they will only sit full party. Didn't wait long, as we were there on a weekday, at 6.30pm. However the restaurant was already full then.
By the time we were done, there was a relatively long queue.
For the uninitiated, the options to customise your bowl of noodle is a long list, so might take some time to decide. We asked the server to give us some recommendations, he was very patient, and explained the options very clearly. ??
We had Aka, Yuzu and Sakura soup based Ramen. All were delicious, soup was thick, not too 'porky' which suited us perfectly.
Also had Karaage, Cheese Brussels Sprouts, Croquettes and Agedashi Tofu.
Karaage had some flour within the fried chicken, so it was not perfect, though the taste was good and juicy.
Brussels Sprouts was light and mildly cheesy, pretty interesting.
Croquettes was rather normal, but relatively large size.
Agedashi Tofu was swimming in radish, it was excellent.
They serve complimentary Oolong tea, which was flavorful.
Price is on the high side, but it is worth trying if you love Ramen. Would still come back to try other soups.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Came here to join the hype. Overall decent but perhaps slightly overrated.
Located at the 163 mall, Kanbe Ramen has a small shop space to accommodate the many patrons they have. This results in long line and also how they squeezed everyone into the shop.
I took the Yuzu Ramen which gave it a refreshing twist to the usual ramen. Broth wise definitely flavourful but what I enjoyed the most is probably their side condiments of fermented bean sprout and salted vegetables. Be sure to try them out :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Might set my expectations a little too high. Ramen was tasty with the thick broth! Tsukemen was special ! but prefer to not have the fermented bamboo in the sauce. Would want to try other flavours next time! Price slightly on the higher side! (RM88.20) However due to the large crowd, unable to finish my meal slowly as the moment I finished my last bite, the waiter came to collect my utensils. Understand that there is a large crowd therefore limited time is available to enjoy my dinner. Suggest to come during non peak hours!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tried both Shiro and Aka Ramen and I liked them both. You can adjust your spiciness level but personally I went up to level 4 and it wasn’t that spicy ?. Came during odd hours so I didn’t need to wait long but during peak hours the queue can be long. Really liked the soup a lot. Meat is tender and well marinated. Noodle is of a good texture, not too hard or soft. Staffs are friendly too. Egg is an add-on but I do recommend adding on to your noodle.
