β β β β β Maybe we have high expectations after seeing the Good reviews. The food was not up to our expectations. The owner sitting at the cashier is friendly and humorous.

β β β β β This is truly the best nyonya laksa we have ever tasted, It's spicy with fresh condiments.
The cendol gula melaka is wonderful dessert to have after eating the laksa.

β β β β β The set lunch is so worthy. The drink is so refreshing. Not to mention all the nyonya dishes. You hit the points. Delicious ?

β β β β β Firstly, I love the interior design of the restaurant, it felts nostalgic. The waiter and cashiers were very friendly so thatβs a plus. The food were pretty good, not the best but I enjoyed it.
I would say itβs value for money and Iβm pretty sure youβll have a decent time there.

β β β β β I was skeptical from the either really good or really bad reviews from here. But I gave it a try and it is actually quite decent! The uncle was very nice and courteous. The laksa was DELICIOUS. We also ordered Nyonya curry, Asam stingray, fried eggplant and chap choi. All were pretty decent. For desserts we had chendol and Sago gula melaka. I wouldnβt recommend the chendol to be honest ? but the sago Gula melaka was JUST RIGHT. 130 rm for all that for 3 people to share would definitely visit again!

β β β β β Overhyped, really do not get the hype. Made a booking for breakfast on Saturday, but really do not need to, plenty of tables.
0/10 Hygiene - Waitresses and kitchen staff were frequently seen without mask, even when serving us. Gross. Also seen eating bread, tearing and putting the bread in their mouth and proceeded to pull a straw out with that hand and placed in my drink before serving it. Wonder if they ever wash their hands between serving customers or just out of hygiene. (Note indoor mask mandates are still in place, also common sense in F&B)
Pie-tee 3/10 - Tastes good but overpriced for 4 pieces.
2/10 Other food (nasi lemak, roti jala, sate ayam) - Edible but extremely disappointing given the awards and hype around the place. Bland, and nothing special at all, wouldn't pass it as average food.
1/10 environment - Service was subpar, you don't get the usual homey welcoming nyonya restaurant vibe here. Just workers who seem like they didn't like their jobs. Nor care if they messed up orders or didn't have their masks on serving you food.
You'd enjoy good nyonya food even at nyonya colours (IKR) or other less-hyped Nyonya place but tatstes 100X better and worth your money. I sound negative, but that's just how disappointing it was.
Hope to see the place improve, but never returning. Hard to compete when better restaurants are left and right of it.

β β β β β Looking for a journey back in time? Hereβs a hidden gem complete with rustic decor that brings back the flavours of old Melaka right smack in the middle of KL.
Service - better than your regular kopitiam with a touch of smile!
Food - above average and well priced. Pong Teh was on point, pie tee was well balanced, fried rice (my 7 year old loved it), curry laksa was good but the biggest highlight was the ice kacang & chendol. The chendol in particular was rich - possibly the best Iβve tried!
Pricing - surprisingly affordable compared to the many restaurants in the area.
Parking isnβt a problem is youβre not too picky - there are several dedicated parking zones nearby and several buildings / hotels where you can park your car in. Come early and snag one of those public lots in front of the shop.
Will I be back? A resounding yes the next time I crave for hint of Traditional Melaka in the middle of KL!
