β β β β β Ingin saya kongsikan pengalaman naik keretapi dari Mentakab ke Lipis baru baru ini sebagai pengembara solo secara backpacker. Oleh kerana tiada bas ke Lipis dari Kuantan sebab banyak syarikat bas ditutup sejak PKP, maka saya terpaksa pilih ambil keretapi ke Lipis. Tak sangka pulak satu satunya perjalanan ke Lipis dari Mentakab cuma pada pukul 3.00 pagi. Setibanya saya di Temerloh dengan bas dari Kuantan, saya naik Grab ke hotel di Mentakab. Saya ceritakan perancangan perjalanan saya kepada pakcik driver Grab sebab saya tidak pernah ke Stesen Keretapi Mentakab. Beliau menasihatkan saya pergi ke stesen keretapi awal sebelum tengah malam sebab Grab sukar diperolehi di Mentakab. Memang betul kata pakcik Grab tersebut. Sepanjang pukul 8.00 malam, dua driver Grab yang berada di Mentakab kensel request saya tanpa reason! Alhamdulillah, lepas tu seorang driver Grab Melayu respond request saya dan bila saya tanya kenapa Grabbers terdahulu kensel request saya, dia kata, mereka malas nak keluar rumah bila dah malam. Ohhhh. Saya amat bersyukur sebab driver Grab tu sanggup hantar ke stesen keretapi, sebab jarak dari hotel ke stesen cuma 500m sahaja. Tapi, jalan tu sangat sunyi, gelap dan menyeramkan. Tiada orang atau penghuni disekitar stesen dan ada beberapa rumah kosong berhampiran. Kelihatan juga beberapa lelaki sedang minum di rumah kosong tersebut. Kedengaran lolongan anjing liar dari hutan yang terletak di kiri kanan stesen keretapi. Stesen keretapi Mentakab kelihatan masih baru siap dibina tapi tandas awam baru dan surau baru dikunci pada waktu malam, hanya akan dibuka pada pukul 2.00 pagi nanti apabila kakitangan stesen buka kaunter stesen. Oleh itu anda perlu cari tempat berlindung yang selamat sementara menunggu keretapi pukul 3.00 pagi tiba. Gambar-gambar yang disertakan di sini setelah stesen keretapi dibuka pada pukul 2.30am.
I would like to share the experience of riding the train from Mentakab to Lipis recently as a solo traveler as a backpacker. Since there are no buses to Lipis from Kuantan because many bus companies have been closed since PKP, I had to choose to take the train to Lipis. Unexpectedly, the only trip to Lipis from Mentakab was only at 3.00 in the morning. When I arrived in Temerloh by bus from Kuantan, I took Grab to a hotel in Mentakab. I told my trip planning to the Grab driver's uncle because I had never been to Mentakab Train Station. He advised me to go to the train station early before midnight because Grab is hard to come by in Mentakab. Uncle Grab was right. During 8.00 pm, two Grab drivers in Mentakab canceled my request for no reason! Alhamdulillah, then a Malay Grab driver responded to my request and when I asked why the previous Grabbers canceled my request, he said, they were lazy to leave the house when it was night. Ohhhh. I am very grateful because the Grab driver is willing to send me to the train station, because the distance from the hotel to the station is only 500m. But, the road was very quiet, dark and scary. There are no people or occupants around the station and there are several empty houses nearby. Several men were also seen drinking in the empty house. The howls of wild dogs were heard from the forest located to the left and right of the train station. Mentakab railway station looks like it has just been completed but the new public toilets and new surau are locked at night, will only open at 2.00 am when the station staff open the station counter. So you have to find a safe shelter while waiting for the 3.00am train to arrive. Photos are included here after the train station opened at 2.30am.

β β β β β Insta worthy place to take nice picts with train bridge, especially in evening time. Just park outside the station, after enter the station turn right and walk for less than 5 minutes to go to the bridge.

β β β β β a newly refurbished train station with taller platform to cater the new upcoming DMU [diesel multiple unit] train.
hopefully this new station is completed with their final touch-ups and will be ready to cater for passengers in the future.
this station will also be a station where ECRL meet.
