This museum is free tickets. But not much people interested to come here. I decided to come in museum while I walk around Melacca river. This museum beside of the river. The staffs are kind. The room with air conditioner, so its also good to cool down my self because Melacca was hot and shiny hahaha. This museum displayed about any goods that not allowed come to Malaysia goverment. They displayed all of them, include wine, sex things (dvd, images) and cond*m. Idk what I have to say when I saw those things displayed in museum hahaha. But for education, why not?

The museum has the history of Malaysia custom from its inception till date this include the uniform of the officers and ways of dispatching letters such as bikes and other means of transportation. Different equipments being used by the customs to ensure the safety of her border. The beginning of Opium, how trade commence between the local and Arabic that visited Melaka because of it's moonsoon. Cars, bikes of unlicensed specimen. The museum also showcase all sorts of animals that are protected under the wildlife act which makes porching in Malaysia a crimes and exportation or import of such animal.

Well, everything is said in the name, it is actually a customs (think customs like import/export in and out of a country) museum, depicting banned and confiscated items among others. It makes for a pleasant 15min, it's free and air-conditioned, so why not ? Don't expect much though...

Free museum located near the Marine museum which includes a good amount of English and Malay information. A good deal of confiscated goods is on show which allows us to see how Malay customs are different than our own

Nicely maintained museum for a short walk and view. Many items displayed showing Melacca was once an important port for trading. It's free entry and air conditioned. On a rainy day or hot afternoon, the kiddos might also enjoy their stroll in the museum. It's interesting to find out how people smuggle things through Malaysian custom and the precious goods trying to smuggle through Malaysian custom. It's also interesting to find out the wages for the custom officers during colonial time. Good work to the Malaysian Marine Department!
