★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The People's Museum is the building of the Historical City of Melaka Municipal Council (MPMBB) before being taken over by PERZIM. The People Museum located at the 1st floor of this building was officiated by Y.A.B Prime Minister of Malaysia on 15 April 1992. The main exhibits of the museum include administrative, housing, social, industrial, tourism, infrastructure and agricultural aspects. It was developed to show the involvement of the people and the government in developing the State of Melaka. Melaka's excellence was also immortalized in the 'Melaka Sedekad Exhibition' known as the People's Museum. Among the objectives is to show the achievement and progress of Melaka State in various fields of economy, politics, social, education, tourism, industry, and so on and the relationship between government and the people. This historic City of Melaka Municipal Council (MPMBB) was taken over by PERZIM. The People's Museum located at the 1st floor of the building was officiated by the Prime Minister on April 15, 1992. Museum exhibits include administrative, housing, social, industrial, tourism, infrastructure and agricultural aspects. It worked so much for the involvement of the people and the government in promoting Melaka. Melaka's excellence was enshrined in the 'Melaka Exhibition A Sedekad'. Among its objectives is to highlight interesting issues related to socio-economic growth from the Melaka era to the "Melaka Bliss" level in the areas of economy, politics, education, social, tourism, industry, and the relations of the people. There are also Museums of Beauty and Kite Museum each available on the 2nd and 3rd floors.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Museum has lots of artifacts on display and is maintained well. However, it is not very engaging unless you take time to read through each section to appreciate the history. There is meteorological sample display, culture of different countries, old time game like kite, throwing spinning gong, beauty museum and history of Melaka. Good place to visit and ticket price is very cheap.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As a whole the museum doesn't have a central theme but many different exhibits. Some of them are dedicated to obscure figures and seem quite random. Each floor has a different theme. Some of the themes I think should not be in a museum of this kind.
There is a medium sized hall which can seat at least 100 comfortably. This hall is available for the public to rent.
