★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Small lounge. OK services. Foods quality is just OK. Ordered the BBQ Chicken Rice and received the Black PeppyChicken Rice, which chicken was tender but not warm and rice was a bit dry...
Have one shower room. Toilet cleanliness have huge room for improvement...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is an airport lounge in Penang airport. This is for domestic side. It is easy to find out because just located in from of security check! Not large but when I used only few groups are using. They serve some refreshments and drinks. Bathroom is in there. It’s simple service just take a seat and relax, it is the way I did here. If you don’t have a time to board, you should leave a little bit early because this is just located in front of the security, it’s a little bit far from boarding gates. Not so far but check at your ticket! Enjoy!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Small lounge. Arm chairs feel dusty, and my body started to itch after sitting for a while. It's a game of luck which power sockets work ? food is pretty bad, the ala carte food consists mainly of chefs microwaving the food up. Everyone was doing a double take as they received their food. If you have limited PP access, don't bother using your complimentary here. Note that I visited the international departure lounge.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bad service. Decent amenities.
We visited during a quiet period with about 5 other people using the lounge. As soon as we arrived we intentionally ordered our hot food from the menu, not wanting to waste any time.
This is when we experienced the low quality of service. There was nobody manning the food area, and through the door to the kitchen, we could see 4 staff members talking & joking amongst themselves.
One female staff member walked from the lounge area into the food area, saw us waiting, made eye contact and then walked straight through the staff door to the kitchen area without acknowledging us.
Noone came out afterwards to serve or take out order.
We waited some more thinking someone would eventually come out, before deciding to get their attention via the staff door.
After waiting 30minutes and seeing other people receive their hot meals we decided to double check at the food counter. After asking the same lady, we were told the food would be brought out. So we went back and waited. As time went on, the waiting time was becoming unacceptable. We went back to follow up. Luckily we caught a chef walking from the kitchen out to the food service area and was able to ask him about our food.
It was then that we realised that they had forgotten our order.
The chef opened the nearby microwave and sitting inside was our plate of pasta. He microwaved the pasta again & told us it would be a minute. We also ordered fish ball soup, which the chef hastily made on the spot in under a minute. (The food was decent).
If you're intending on visiting this lounge. Be prepared for the bad service & make sure you follow up on your food orders (which you may need to do via the staff door leading to the kitchen). Even as I am writing this review, I can hear the staff joking to one another in the back kitchen area, and noone is serving at the counter.
Service aside, the lounge is comfortable. Note there are no USB charging ports.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ How does Penang Airport’s Plaza Premium lounge look like during the MCO?
It was my very first time being in this lounge. I was able to enter for free because I use the Aeon Platinum Credit card.
With unlimited free food and free drinks, the wait for my flight was a very pleasant one. Comfortable seats are placed everywhere, with power plugs and USB sockets in abundance.
In view of the current pandemic, the choices of food have been very limited - only Hainanese Chicken Rice was served. (My experience in Kuching’s plaza premium lounge prior to the pandemic was Sarawak Laksa, Teo Chew Porridge, and Nasi Briyani). Free drinks include hot beverages such as Milo, tea or coffee, and also canned drinks.
The staff are extremely attentive here, constantly checking on whether I wanted more drinks. Melvin, the manager, personally approached me a couple of times. Time flew at a comfortable pace being here.
I would hope to have the full experience of Penang’s plaza premium lounge post pandemic.
Travel Tip :
If you are an avid traveller, find credit cards that give you the perk of entering these premium lounges for free ?
But if you ever want to get a credit card:
-ensure you spend wisely
-pay your bills in time, if not the credit card interest will eat you up
-Never spend on borrowed money
-Be well versed with the terms and conditions of the credit card

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stars are for the STAFF working here, from counter to kitchen! Great service despite short handed. Not for the lounge though...
I called in a day before to confirm my eligibility as this is a domestic lounge. Despite getting confirmation we were denied entry. Apparently CIMB WORLD, CITIBANK PRESTIGE and HSBC PREMIER are not accepted. And yes, I asked…all CITIBANK, CIMB, MAYBANK AND HSBC card types accepted during my telephone conversation. Classic or gold cards have access but ours are denied?. Wow! A revelation…
Paid RM72 per person as we have time to kill…

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First visit here. Probably due to covid situation, food is limited. However, it's a comfortable place to chill and relax while waiting for your flight. Very impressed by the waiter/attendant Mr Melvin. It was very busy at that time but he was the only one handling the front counter, taking orders, serving food and clearing the tables. All that with polite and friendly gestures to customers. Keep it up!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First time can enter domestic lounge.
Food here is limited due to post pandemic still in recovery mode.
Place is comfortable to have a rest and break before the flight.
The staffs are friendly, just the kitchen there response a bit slower.
Had the tomato chicken rice, taste still fine, don't compare those famous tomatoes chicken rice shop ?
