★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sadly, mine was not the "premium" experience I expected for the price and the additional fees. This center charges, on top of tuition, a RM500 "registration fee" - although I was not sure what for in my case as I already live in Malaysia and had no need for help getting a visa. They also charge a RM500 "resources fee" which is the main cause of my complaint.
Unfortunately -- and with no advance warning so I could change my dates - major construction work took place during most of February when I was there for a month-long intensive Bahasa Melayu program. My tutor, Miss Fatihah, was excellent and I did learn a lot of Malay in the time. But when I asked for a refund of the resources fee because of a) the daily noise of jackhammering, which made it hard to concentrate on learning a new language; b) the dust from walls being torn down, and c) the fact that their so-called "computer learning lab" is four desktops set out in a hallway that everyone walks past -- right next to the construction work -- they refused to even consider this.
I have no idea what the resources fee is supposed to cover, although I did not find this out for myself until after classes started. The Center provided no toilet paper or hand wash in the toilets - which are definitely sub-standard -- no tea or coffee or biscuits during break times. Most of the books in the "library" are suitable only for students learning English. The book we used costs RM40 online! That's it...for RM500!! And the book wasn't all that useful for a class that's supposed to be focused on Malay conversation.
I could go on at length....I would certainly not recommend this Center for students or as a place to work. During the first week or so the couple who apparently own it had their small child running up and down the hallways, interrupting people -- making it once again difficult to study on the hallway computers.
These people are not at all professional. Maybe things will improve once the renovations are complete, but I judge a company on how it treats its clients -- and in my case I feel I was treated very shoddily indeed.
