Back to basic food I have a sifu who taught me a lot of things. Sometimes just by listening to his experiences, I can learn a thing or two about life. But most importantly, his taste bud can be discerning - he had probably tasted most of the finer things in life but still prefer simple dishes when it comes to eating. In terms of food, he has few places that he would go back on regular basis and this particular restaurant is one of them. I remember passing by many times but never thought of going in, and always ended up in other restaurants along the same stretch or at the back. The famous HK Porky Noodle (back row) is related to this restaurant if I'm not mistaken. ◾Hakka lei cha - one of the better version in PJ. Love the fact that the soup has the right consistency (not too thick nor too thin) and is flavourful, and the fresh ingredients make up the rest. ◾pan mee - love the fact that they are generous with ingredients. Lack of greens because the son requested so.. lol! Something I wouldn't hesitate to wallop instantly. ◾Curry chicken rice - who knew that such a simple dish could give such satisfaction? A bowl of white rice placed neatly on the plate, with just curry chicken on the side.. the curry gravy flooded the whole plate and then garnished with Mint leaves. By the way, the curry chicken was the bomb! ◾Foo chow style fish balls - love it when the soup in the middle burst into my mouth as I took a bite. ◾Hakka yam abacus - they did this classic Hakka dish justice. I can't stop eating. ◾Braised chicken feet - slightly spicy sauce yet delicious. ◾Traditional bah chang - one of those rare restaurant with this traditional once-a-ywar delicacy featured permanently in their menu. Shaped like a pillow, the ingredients were rather generous and we gobbled up lime hungry wolves. Sometimes it is back-to-basic kind of meal that gives me most satisfaction. Yes I also love fine dining once in a while just to excite the palate, but nothing beats a bowl of lei cha to give me satisfaction. This place, WILL BE, one of the regular places for me.

I ordered Chilli pan mee (thick), which turned out to be disappointing. The mee did not have a chewy texture to it, and the chilli was not fragrant. Though, I like to commend them for adding crackers and the side dishes were okay.

Decent noodles joint specialising in pan mee. No frills simple set up. Cold service. There were several types of noodles to choose from. We tried the dry pan mee & bitter goard pork noodles. Both were average at best. Good portions though. Fried fish cake was nice as a side. Teh C Special was good however the Wolfberry Tea was unnaturally sweet. Overall good spot for a quick meal.

A rather different version of chilli pan mee from what I normally have. It includes a variety of toppings including your regular mushroom, mince meat, fried anchovies and chilli flakes. They also have this fried stuff (which I'm not sure what it is) and vege. It is then topped off with an egg with perfectly runny yolk. The noodle has a good bite to it and it is seasoned quite well. My only gripe with it is that the sauce is a bit more watery than I'd like it to be. Though the whole dish comes together quite well. Slightly on the pricier side of things, which I guess is quite justifiable with the toppings given.

Very decent pricing and Good Food! A place to satisfy your crave and stomach ! I like this place! No frills deco, not pretentious, just a few Burmese workers who worked hard to provide you with Pan Mee noodles and varieties of Noodles! And to my surprise: even their Curry Chicken with Rice tasted So Good with hefty portion - 3pc chicken with enough rice for a single portion at reasonable price! Love it!

Try their soup Pan Mee, their soup is nicer than the competitor behind and cheaper but less meat. Overall is good.

Had the pan mee, hand made ie instead of noodle it is little pieces of dough hand pulled/ shredded. I think this is first “machine rolled” as it is consistently even in thickness otherwise it would have uneven thickness if done by hand. Anyway, the soup is great & full flavour. The “noodle” I would have preferred it slightly thicker for texture and some “chewyness” ?
