โ โ โ โ โ Decent and clean local coffee shop in Taman Yulek, Cheras. Great tea/coffee maker, great stew duck / braised pork rice stall. The curry noodle with roasted pork worth trying too

โ โ โ โ โ Non-halal.
Relatively clean chasatt compared to most of the others. This is an old school kopitiam with multiple stalls in it. The beverages section (่ถๆฐด) was good, but some staffโs attitude (some girls, not being bias but honest haha) needs improvement as they very easily black faced.
But that doesnโt really matter to me as most of the stalls here serves good food. Vegetarian, pan mee, Teochew stew duck rice, roasted pork rice, dai chao and etc etc. Prices are reasonable. Non-air-conditioned, but you can get fresh juice or local beverages to ease your heat in here! Great kopitiam around the hood.
Attached with some picture of the kopitiam.

โ โ โ โ โ Kudos to the boss who take action to tell customer to stop smoking in the restaurant. Some boss won't do this because afraid of losing customer.

โ โ โ โ โ I'm here just for teochew stew duck and egg. Being a teochew traveller, this stew duck is special. Never regret for a try.

โ โ โ โ โ A corner coffee shop located at Taman Yulek. No aircon, just fan. We were there late afternoon, no crowds. However, they have ran out of porridge, despite their operation hours is until 2000hrs.
Ordered their braised/stewed dishes i.e. signature duck, pork, eggs, tofu and salted vegetables.
Braised sauce - taste of the sauce is good, well balanced, not salty, allowing each layer of various meat flavours to present themselves without overpowering each other.
Dishes - the duck meat is very tender and aromatic. The pork is good with a balance spread of fats and lean meat. The salted vege is soft and tasty and not salty. Tofu is perfect. As for the eggs, the egg white is too hard.
Soup - nice black bean duck soup. Not salty yet flavoursome.
Rice - A big let down. Too hard and rough. That explained why the porridge is sold out! Just have the dishes (as they are good to be eaten on their own) if porridge is not available.
Verdict:
We will definitely travel to Tai Kee as and when we want to have stewed/braised duck with porridge.
