★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place slightly higher in elevation compared to the Dusun. As a result the mossies weren't that prevalent. Present for sure but smaller swarms. The place offers a fantastic view of the area and it is very clean with all the ammenties you can ask for. Quality shampoo and shower foam was also provided. Do note that this is very close to nature so insects, Gekkos, and small animals are present. Oh ya during meal time a couple of friendly dogs would also show up. The salt water pool is also a delight. So if you are looking for a nice quiet place to chill out with a group of up to 10, you cant go wrong at Selepas Hujan.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Like how the name of this next place suggests – being here will be as refreshing as the feeling of after the rain. Nestled in Berembun Rainforest, Selepas Hujan is a private lodge that places you above the dense forest while being one with nature. Over here, you can go on a 45-minute jungle trek guide or even visit the nearby Temuan orang asli village and learn about their culture.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stay in the villa at the upstairs level and the water pressure was good. The water supply was on and off. Sometimes you have to wait for 2 hours for the water to be pumped to the upstairs. The scenary, view and ambience was magnificent. Loves it to the max. And theres kitchen complete with cooking equipment available too ???

2 big rooms at main house with pool for families gathering up to 8-9 ppl.
Private single room in separated villa with dipping pool.
Both equip with fridge, kitchen, microwave, bbq stove.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Overall the experience staying in “Pondok Petai Madu” still not that bad, surrounding by natural and loud insect noise at night. The unit is old, but those wooden style can create antique felt. But need to maintain abit to it to be more pleasant, especially the toilet bowl (better replace new one), hammock also the room floor mats/carpet should change to new one.

Apart from that, price paid not worth it and owner doesn’t take negative feedback or apology for our unpleasant 2 night stay.
1. Failed architect design for malaysia weather.
Name suits the venue. Selepas Hujan you will get wet. Access to rooms are not covered. No umbrella/raincoat provided. Bathroom shower area open air so have to shower under the rain!
2. Humid and wet linen. Some of the linen are with stains too
3. No safety - rooms can’t be lock
4. Mosquito - be careful of Dengue / Malaria
5. Bedroom roof LEAKAGE right on the bed!
Will not be back and will not recommend anyone to stay at this place. Never

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have had a very bad experience staying in Selepas Hujan and dealing with the owner. Sharing my story here to warn you if you are considering this place for your holiday.
When we checked in, the house helper Umi informed us that there has been known electricity interruption in the past 1 week. I was surprised that the owner has not mentioned anything about it before our check in.
At around 7pm, when we just started the BBQ dinner, the resort suddenly went all blacked out. I immediately feedback this to the owner and she denied that this is a known issue in the past 1 week but an unexpected event. Regardless of the underlying cause, the subsequent responses from the owner is utmost disappointing.
She promised to have the helper come to meet us and assist us but it did not happen. She promised to bring ice to us (as we have food in the fridge which will go bad) but nothing come. She promised to make our stay easier and ease our problem but nothing was done. There is not even a phone call from the owner to check out the situation!
Above all, when I finally informed her about the electricity has returned, her response is just ‘That’s great’ and no further messages to apologize to her guests who paid almost RM3k but went through this disastrous experience.
It is a truly disappointing holiday experience, and the owner responses on this matter is most frustrated. She emphasized to me that she has been accredited as superhost, but none of the services and experiences above even meet a standard level in hospitality industry.
I definitely will not return to this place nor recommend it to anyone who is expecting a relaxing holiday.
