★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really rude ordering staff. There were no visible indication of the queue ordering and sitting system so we took a seat when the stall was rather empty but was scolded by the old uncle taking orders when he could have just spoken to us nicely. He even threatened us to leave if we are not happy after he scolded us and when we didn’t even say anything.
Soup is mediocre too and meat is quite tough. However the service really ruins the experience.

Soup-wise is kind of overrated, I don't taste the herbal aroma from the soup. It tasted kinda like almond soup and kinda jelat?
The only saving grace are the proximity from KSL and sesame chicken...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Passed by Soon Soon Heng bak kut teh 顺顺兴肉骨茶 (opposite KSL City Mall) many times and the shop is always packed. At Soon Soon Heng, soup refill is available without imposing any charges. The BKT here was charged by the no. of pax for either 1, 2, 3 or 4 persons.
They serve typical Bak Kut Teh, which means only pork ribs are served in the claypot.There are lots of other things like button mushroom, enoki mushroom, kidney, liver, stomach, pork ball, lean pork slices etc we could add into the pot.
It is not an overstatement to say this is the BEST bak kut teh I’ve had. This bak kut teh broth was somewhat between peppery and herbal. The aroma of garlic was most apparent and the broth had a perfect balance of pepper with a subtle taste of herbs and/or other spices. What I really liked about it was how robust and flavoursome the broth was because a lot of other ingredients went into it like the juicy button mushrooms and addictive fried beancurd skin (we requested for an extra serving) that would definitely flavour the soup even more. For a 2-pax pot, I must say this was a generous portion as there were plenty of pork ribs in it.
Unfortunately, my most preferred BKT isn’t located in Singapore. The winner is Soon Soon Heng Bak Kut Teh in JB. Can’t wait to travel to JB again just to eat this.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Frequent here most of the time for Bak Kut Teh as it is opposite KSL shopping mall.
One of the better bak kut teh in my personal opinion. I will always add pork tendon (‘Bak Kerng’ ) which is more crunchy.
The side dishes ( beancurd and salty veggie) is a good companion to the piping hot bak kut teh soup.
Only complain is very warm in the restaurant due to the cooking is done openly in the shop.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Soup was boring, no herbal no taste notes to note. Some of the meat was extremely dry, others were ok but not soft and tender. Bit in random bone fragments throughout the meal. The other ingredients were ok. Veg was not too salty and had decent texture. Quite pricey 3pax 75RM maybe cuz near KSL.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The og jb bak kut teh. Same great taste as pre covid days. It is a nostalgic dish that brings back memory of the good old days. 5 stars not for the food but for the tradition. Come here if you are looking for a no-frills great bkt experience.
P.S all additional ingredients must be ordered. Soup only comes with meat.

was a nice to have but you’re better off trying other restaurants that have 4 and above stars on google maps in the area.
good to try once but i won’t be back.
