Tenggol Coral Beach Resort

We organized a trip for 52 pax with the help of Jenifer who was really helpful in the planning of the trip - really accommodating! The rooms, food and overall ambience of the resort was great! It was a great way to unwind and relax. Special shout out to Guan Liang, Gavin, Kenny, Din, Ashad, Rachel, KJ, Marcus, Albert, Sapphire and Yap who worked with us in catering to our request and were really good at managing the planning of dives for our big group - for both fun dives and the courses. Definitely will plan another trip back there! :)

It was a 0 star experience. If you are not skilled enough or just passed your OWD, DO NOT come here for fun dives. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. The owners and dive masters are very UNFORGIVING and kept asking where did you get your OWD from, saying that all the skills should have been taught and mastered (perfectly) during OWD. It's like saying once you passed your driving test, you should be able to drive up to Fraser's Hill with 100km/h. Being new divers that have not dived for more than 2 years, we were rushed to back roll into water with no proper buddy check. We didn't felt safe at all. Therefore, we decided to leave after 1 fun dive and 1 night stay, out of 5 fun dives and 2 nights stay that we have paid for. Upon expressing our intention to cut short our trip, the co-owner Rachel, being in a very drunk state, made us write down our feedbacks and we had to explain our feedbacks repeatedly (around 5-7 times). The whole feedback session with no outcome took 2 hours. Rachel who is already very drunk could not process any of the feedbacks. The next day when we are supposed to take the boat out, all of the staff and owners were too embarrassed to approach us. And they left us wondering what time is our boat with no clear direction or indication. The way they dealt with customers complaints are ridiculous. We did not even ask for refund and they couldn't even bid a proper goodbye.

Travel: it’s a 3.5 to 4 hours drive from KL. Parking at the Guesthouse is RM10/per night. Island: it’s quite island with less visitors. Snorkelling is beautiful. We spotted a giant moray eel during snorkelling. Water is clean and clear. Coral formation is preserved and beautiful. Hope it stays this way. P/s: the beach has sandfly, please spray insect repellant (resort is providing it for free) very thoughtful and considerate of them. Other activities: hiking to see sunset, board game with friends, kayaking, star gazing at night, play frisbee at the beach, drinking with friends. Accommodation: clean, modern, comfortable. We are very happy about it. Food: 4 meals a day, buffet style. Lunch and dinner has soup, rice, 5 dishes, fruits. One day with BBQ and it’s very nice. Overall, if you are looking for a vacation destination to relax and a break from the hustle bustle city life, this is quite a perfect place. Family friendly place, can come with friends and family. This island isn’t so commercialised (no signal except celcom) and I absolutely love it.

Did my Advanced Open Water Diving course with Marcus at Tenggol Coral and he was spectacular! Rather than just using blanket textbook guidance, his cues are so much more accurate, personalised, easily understandable and digestible, and he could immediately identify what my weaknesses and issues were. I've always found buoyancy control challenging, but within the first dive with Marcus, he's fixed ALL my diving issues. I've become much calmer and have much better control, and in return, my air consumption and bottom time has increased a great deal. Did my night dive for the first time ever and it was surprisingly so calming thanks to Marcus. He was such a calm and friendly instructor, which makes all the dives so much fun! He would also observe the way I dive and give me feedback after the dives. Before and after each dive, he'd explain the intention and objective of the dive, and we'll always have a quick debrief after each dive. I must say I've learnt so much from him as compared to any other dive centres I've been to previously. Would 10/10 come back here again whenever possible! Food at the hotel was delicious too. 4 buffets a day with BBQ & more! At night you'd get to mingle around and chill with the diving community and instructors. Everyone is super friendly and nice! Really fun. The room has all the basic necessities you'll need so wasn't much issue for us. You can purchase the line to get connection, but we were there to shutdown, so we actually liked that there was no connection there. The entire journey from KL to getting there and back were clear and an ease. But yes, sandflies are a problem but the hotel provides insect repellents all day so wasn't too much of a concern for us! Big shoutout to Marcus, Rachel, Leen, Kevin, Albert, Kenny, Gavin & Guang Liang for making us feel so welcomed and making our stay here so enjoyable! TQ! ??

Took my PADI Open Water Course here and was really happy that I did. My instructor Marcus was patient, knowledgeable and funny too, that made the course very enjoyable. Their dive center was organised with all equipment ready and it was conveniently located with proper facilities around. I am also vegetarian and they were able to accommodate my dietary requirement with no problems, and the food was really good so I really couldn't ask for more. All in all, could tell the owners were really thoughtful and the service provided was nice, 10/10 would come back again.

Excellent dive centre. As this is a small privately owned resort and not 5 star resort, don't expect to get 5 star resort rooms/facilities. Took my open water course, overall great experience for diving. Dive instructor Rachell is really knowledgeable and fix my mistakes easily with her experience.

Nice beach but bad resort management. The departure boat was not on time, my experience was not a peaceful and quiet resort. Always some drunken groups shouting, yelling and smoking vigorously on the common area whereby a non smoking sign just next to it. Its a below the average resort. If you come here to dive, the dive center service is alright, expect a lot of DIY. The dive master only pays more attention to you as a beginner after your feedback to them.
