Built at quite a distance from the bustling Ayer Itam town. Surrounded by orchards od fruits and some fragmented diptherocarp forests. Not much visitors but not on the birthday celebrations of the deities. If you are looking for stretching your muscles, this is an ideal place because you can do round trip in one hour from Kek Lok Si Temple.

Old but still a jewel, this Taoist temple located on a hiking trail of an unnamed road in the hilly terrain known locally by hikers as the Tai Siong Loo koon trail. A good 20-25 minutes walk following the sign boards along the way will bring you right to the temple. Here housed the Deity Tai Siong Loo Koon famous as a Chinese celestial immortal. There are three prayer halls each housing a different taoist deity and a Tua Pek Kong deity located outside the main praying hall. The unique tranquility of this beautiful shrine is the utmost cleanliness and the strict vegetarian diet observed as the temple rules. Strictly no meat allowed inside the temple. The cleanliness of this shrine by far the most well kept taoist temple on the island, the superd job of keeping this place clean and tidy is by the temple lady care taker. This lady makes sure every corner of the temple is swept and clean without qualms. Surrounded by a lust green plantation filled with different varieties of fruits, brings a breath of fresh air for you to enjoy. You can get carried away in the essence of calm proximity that lighten your mood. Take a stroll and enjoys the splendid experience of the trip.

December 2021 Updates: A good location for bird watching. This is a good spot for you to take a rest before continuing towards Kopi Hutan (Penang Hill). For those who are planning to visit this temple via Air Itam dam, it is now NOT POSSIBLE to do it because the gate is locked. (See photos attached here) You cannot hike from Air Itam dam anymore!
