The food was decent for the price. The service was quick as well eventhough there were many customer. Tried their signature/recommended Hor Tan Ho, Mui Choi Kau Yok, and beans and it did not dissapoint. The Hor Tan Ho itself was very eggy with use of eggs in all ways to serve the dish. Overall, a good place to visit for a quick meal before heading up or down genting.

Ze Yuan Seafood Restaurant澤源海鲜楼 we had Claypot prawn with fresh milk (similar to butter prawn but in a claypot), French beans fried in salted egg, and claypot frog. The prawns were really good, served with buns. However because the claypot was hot and this was a milk based dish, it got a little burnt at the bottom and the sauce was thicker when it cooled down. Didn’t have a strong burnt taste so it was okay. The French beans were really good, the salted egg was a great addition to it. The frog on the other hand was a tad bit salty but really tender. For those who hasn’t tried frog before, the meat taste like chicken but more tender. The wait was a little long considering that the restaurant wasn’t that big. But was a great lunch nevertheless.

Introduced by my neighbour, came here for the first time and realised its actually good. The portion is just perfect for the no of people per table, taste wise i think pretty great imo, most surprisingly is the price of the foods are quite affordable as well! Staffs are all very nice and friendly, service is fast too although during peak hour they will be busier but they wont forget your order dont worry. Will definitely come again next time!

My family have been dining in Ze Yuan since the restaurant opened many years ago. Each time we visit Gohtong, we will support this restaurant, even until today. Waiter and waitresses are friendly and courteous. Food wise is pretty alright. Today Soon Hock is fresh but a little bit pricey. It was very crowded today. Waited for more than 1 hour. Also didn't enjoy the seating outside the corridor as there were other people smoking and spitting on the road side.

Wat tan hor fun is a must order. Taste much better than it looks. The hor fun is chewy, silky and stir fried with nice wok heh and the sauce is very tasty. The lemon chicken is not too nice though. Would be better if they make it like a chicken cutlet. Expected a little more after that delicious hor fun.

Overall: ***1/2 Food: *** Service: **** Value: ***1/2 A friend recommended this restaurant in Gohtong Jaya and 5 of us tried the food on Tuesday 24 May. We arrived before 12pm and the place was almost full. The best dish was undoubtedly the steamed machao chicken (great taste and fine texture) as was the wat tan hor (looks do deceive, it looked gooey but was fine!). The fried bee hoon which looked plain tasted good too (umami taste from salted fish?). The minuses: lala soup (taste was nice and the lala were extremely fresh but there was sand in the lala and in the soup!); tou miau was too salty; and mah po tofu failed miserably (colour was wrong, no hint of mala taste). Overall, it was slightly above average only. They have to do better since competition is fierce in that stretch of shoplots.
