β β β β β A must visit when going to KLCC. Wide range of books to choose from, the latest and the classics, random titles you don't even think of searching. The ambience is nice, you either browse the books till you forgot the time or it just makes you drowsy u wish u can just sleep there.
Customer service is a bit meh though, seems like they're only friendly to regular? ?ββοΈ
Price wise, still preferred Book Depo though. Here with member price the difference is still big ???, if you like the feeling of browsing books, touch them, read an excerpt then this is your place. For people like me that preferred blind buy and hate going outside, then go online is better

β β β β β An oasis of literature to sharpen your minds not wagging tongues, highlighting classical writers to contemporary wannabe philosophers, attracting the crowds yet enlightening few.

β β β β β This place reminds me of MPH MidValley. It's big with many books selection and with a calming ambience.
The interior design is beautiful and cozy.
I like it that they have a mezzanine floor with laminate flooring, so you can find a nice private spot to sitdown and browse through the books to decide which ones to purchase.
The bookstore is located just opposite of Petrosains. So, if you bring your kids to Petrosains, it's a good idea to also bring them to Kinokuniya.

β β β β β The best bookstore the Malaysia, when i travel to Malaysia it's always a must to go here, the selection is huge, and in every category there is allot of books, the manga section is the bigges out of every books store that i have ever been to.
I almost always when traveling to Malaysia stop in Kuala Lumpur for a day just to come to this library.

β β β β β This is one of the biggest physical bookstores in Kuala Lumpur. It has the biggest and latest range of magazines comics travel books professional law finance children language novels history books just to name a few. The mezzanine floor used to have a place for you to sip a coffee and read a book over looking the fountain. Heaven for book lovers.

β β β β β The only bookshop in Malaysia that has a diverse range of books. Very popular. Good selection. Good customer service. Staff are very helpful. They also have a coffee club upstairs. There's a selection of Japanese books. We'll worth your time here.

β β β β β Ahh, the Mothership. Still the only worthy reason I'd brave the KL crowd and traffic. This store has one of the best selections for contemporary, language, classics/literature, horror/thriller, politics, manga and Japanese titles. Now they even have a dedicated 'Tiktok' section to appeal to the gen Zs and social media literates.
I've been to the Kinokuniya outlets in Japan and Singapore but this KL outlet is still my favorite, due to the sheer volume and variety of tomes available. I'm also in love with the ample space and layout here, it's very peaceful and relaxing (but of course sans the crowd on weekends or public holidays).
No doubt, as it is a brick and mortar, the price can be a little daunting, whatwith the proliferation of the cheaper options by secondhand/preloved and online book stores, but they're getting more aggressive with the marketing, with the ongoing promotions, highlighting different authors/genres every month. It seems like there's always this 20% off promo each month, so if you're targeting certain books then it's best if you pay attention to their social media on the latest promotions.
While this outlet is a book haven for readers, I wish I could say the same thing about their website. It's not user friendly and if you have the luxury of time to go the store instead of purchasing online, I'd definitely recommend the physical store for the experience.
